Welcome to the Board.

I think you'll find most folks here are receptive to Oppo Posters who are well informed and polite.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the welcome. I think we all appreciate informed football talk without all the BS. I know I do.

Go Texans!

You must be a big fan of domes, then.

For myself and many others, an essential element of football is that it can be all about randomness and how a team proves its superiority in the face of the unexpected and the uncontrollable. To me, at least, that's at the heart of the sport.

Think of what are commonly regarded as some of the greatest games of the last half century: the Ice Bowl 1967 (Lambeau), the Snow Bowl 2002 (Foxboro), The Greatest Game Ever Played 1958 (Yankee Stadium). They were all characterized by what you would probably describe as "random" adversity and how teams had to confront, manage and overcome it.

Think too of the great owners in the league today; they have all chosen to build outdoor stadiums in cold or challenging environments over the last decade or so: the Krafts, the Mara's, the Rooney's.
Geezer Butler likes this.

No quiite the opposite, i hate domes. Football should be played outside. But in this instance since we have not played the Texans in a long time, i want a true guage on what we are dealing with quite possibly come playoff time. Better understand your opponent now then in the playoffs.

Both teams have to play in the same weather. I can see why y'all think it's a big advantage, but we play pretty good, regardless. No offense (and no pun intended ) but I'll take our running game in bad weather anyday, especially with Tate healthy again. It's not just about Foster anymore.

I wish the Texans would open up the retractable roof more often. I agree that cold and nasty is football weather.

Not going Monday but as an in stadium fan I'd much rather have a cold snowy night than a wet cold rainy night. Much easier to stay warm when dry.

You don't get the flu from cold weather, you get it from other people who have the flu.

Research has shown that the aerosol transmission of the virus is enhanced when the air is cold and dry.

Brady loves the snow, but rain is awful for a quarterback, because it makes it difficult to properly grip the football. If it rains, don't expect us to come out in shotgun spreading people out like they usually do in the snow.
