Yes.

Your screen name and sig photo are kind of disturbing. Are you OK?

For many statistical purposes, only games after the merger are counted.

I'm sure they'll listen.

Not really.

I appreciate your concern though. A SB may heal me.

Scoring that much never seems to translate well in the post season.

Just think about how many high scoring offenses were held to under 24 when they lost in the playoffs
I like it, we wouldn't even be making playoff noise with this D otherwise.

...and have the disclaimer "since the merger", not "all-time".

Good call Andy! And to think I doubted them...

Cool stat I read on PFT:

After losing to the Seahawks back in Week 6 the Pats have gone 5-0 and have scored 43.8 PPG. Simply amazing

Also one more thing I have been thinking since I first read this thread last week: I have a pretty good feeling that we are not as close to the '07 teams scoring prowess as we think we are. Simply on memory Im pretty sure we have scored way more non-offensive TDs this season than in '07. I have a feeling that if we were to calculate offense only TDs the gap between this year and '07 would be larger, although not by much. This would further emphasize the point that '07 offense was one of a kind.

I crunched the numbers a little bit last week and I know the site I used didnt account for defensive and special teams return TDs when calculating PPG. Im gonna wait until the numbers are put in from this game and probably will try to look into this next week unless someone with better resources wants to beat me to it!

'07 had 8 defensive or special teams TDs. (2 KR, 3 INT Returns, 3 Fumble Returns)

'12 has 7 so far. (1 KR, 1 PR, 2 INT Returns and 3 Fumble Returns)

So they are on pace for 10 non-offensive TDs this year.

Still dont think they will beat the 07 record with winter and some good defensive squads coming up... but it would be nice to see bradys offensive hold the #1 and #2 best scoring seasons
