Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is too much. I thought I had seen your homerism at its peak. It's not too much to ask for the team you root for to hold higher standards for its athletes? Kraft passed on Vincent Jackson for the same "family value" reasons, but since the Pats have changed their tune, there always Andy Johnson out there to explain why everyone is wrong for questioning the Pats about anything.
See, the problem here is that you don't actually know how different the situations are.
Vincent Jackson was arrested in 2006 for DUI, which he pled guilty to and was put on probation. In 2009, he was arrested the day before the play-off game against Pittsburgh for suspicion of DUI. He plead guilty and was put on probation again after serving 4 days in jail. In 2010, he was arrested for driving without a license. This was just hours before the play-off game against the Jets.
It's clear that Jackson is selfish and doesn't care about his teammates, otherwise he wouldn't be doing dumb***** like that before play-off games. You'll also note that Jackson was in his 4th and 5th years when the DUI and the Driving on a suspended license occurred.
Now, Talib, on the other hand, had an altercation with a teammate at the 2008 Rookie Symposium that resulted in no arrest. In 2009, there was a an alleged incident with a Taxi driver where he was charges with simple battery and resisting arrest without violence. Those charges were dropped. In 2010, an arrest warrant was issued by Garland, TX because he supposedly discharged a gun at his sister's boyfriend. He was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but those charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence AND the character issues with the boyfriend. The boyfriend is a registered sex offender and is currently in jail on charges of indecency with a child/sexual contact. The Boyfriend had ALSO been charged earlier in the day with assault and interference with and emergency phone call. My guess is that the boyfriend had been in a domestic dispute with Talib's sister and had gotten rough with her. Talib and his mom got over there and they got into it. And the boyfriend made up the story to try and ruin the Star football player. Doesn't excuse Talib's actions, but they are understandable.
But, Talib hasn't done anything since 2010. So, it's over 2 years. Yet you want to make him into some kind of monster. Which he isn't.

Not accurate. The shooting at the boyfriend was March 21st, 2011.
In Oct 2012, he got nailed for a banned substance in Oct in which he took during TC
Plus he did stuff in 2010, 2009, 2008.
Every single year it's something...and I'm still glad he is here.

I agree with you on your points, but there are few corrections to the quoted part of your post:
1) That incident took place in march 2011.
2) Talib was acquitted from all charges, becouse there was not enough evidence against him and there were charracter concerns regarding the boyfriend. THE BOYFRIEND IS IN THE BIN AND A KNOWN REPEAT CHILD MOLESTER. So no reason to judge Talib in any way regarding that, becouse it was most likely just that psycho BF harrassing him.
About the Addrall suspension he is on right now, correct me if I'm wrong but I think he has ADHD and that is the drug they prescribe to him. So essentially he just took a drug that he is allowed to take, but did it without a valid prescription. Hardly a felony.
Now, all of you "charracter concern" and "patriot way" mumblers in here should really go and listen some of his interviews. To me he seems like a regular guy who has been victimized by the media who loves to feast on all plausible charracter issues on public persons, no matter how far-fetched they are.
I hate how some people pretend to be so pure and saintly and at the same time make such harsh judgements on people.
Bunch of hypocrites I say.

well...YOU may be happy he's here but after reading this thread I'm not so sure HE will be happy he's here....hasn't even played a snap yet and he's Jack the Ripper, the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll and the genetic result of triple cloning using Rae Carruth's, Cecil Collins and Lawrence Phillips DNA...

Scratch that part. Obviously I remember this wrong. At least no article came up about whether he has ADHD or not.
yeah..cuz I went to Finland once...yeah,I was selling swim fins to this Helsinki cold plunge resort...anyway, one night I'm looking for a good bar and I spot Finn Flanagan's Fjord bar with this line out front, so I figure this looks like a likely spot to while away a night...I walk up to the doorman and it's a fin to get in...so I pay the cover and guess what happens next?...I run into this guy Mickey Finn and didn't wake up for two days...yeah...that's the ticket...

I am, and I have to admit that you had some old ones but few very fresh ones in there as well.

Dude, it has nothing to do with the Patriots and what they do.
If you want to make football players your childrens role models, go for it, and be prepared for the disappointment.
My opinion has been consistent for 40 years.
