seems like a weird way to say it, comparing "media attention" in the second preseason game to when Brady went down for the year and Cassel had to step in...

I don't really see why BB would care or why it's worth speculating about and bringing in that as a parallel

It is an absolutely crazy attempt to relate the two.

I don't think that Brady is injured, as he was working out on his own with the other WR's/TE's who didn't play either in the last practice.

I'm not really getting the point that he's attempting to make, besides that maybe Belichick didn't want the media attn on Brady with Mallett/Hoyer starting instead?

I don't see why it's such a stretch, honestly, how often does Brady not play? Never.

The only times beforehand Brady hasn't been in the stadium during a game is while he was injured in 2008. Brady wasn't in the stadium tonight, so he compared the two situations.

I think when you read it a few times your point is correct, but it's possible that when first reading it his point is somewhat murkier. It could be that the words "similar," "injured," and "Brady" just take some of our minds to another place. I don't know.

He wasn't comparing the two situations....he was simply proposing a reason as to why TFB wasn't there. In both situations TFB wasn't going to play (for different reasons), and this put the focus on the QB for that game.

On a side note, it's a good thing he wasn't there tonight with the O-line doing their impression of a turn-style.
