Default OT: Great article by Gosselin on the TACKLES stat
If you haven't read this, its a great read. The tackle stat is definitely one that makes you go "HMMmmmm". Especially when you see that some teams average nearly 2 tackles per play....

Makes sense that it should have a standard empowered by the NFL.. this makes the current method pretty stupid.

Why not have one tackle awarded per play and have it equal one? If one player wraps up and another assists have .5+.5=1 or .25+.25+.25+.25=1 for a gangbang. A guy cannot get tackled more than once.

The only bad thing about reading an article by Rick Gosselin is that it brings home how miserable New England football journalism is in comparison.

I think it's just "non-Gosselin" football journalism that's the problem. There really are very, very few nationwide who come close.
