Ty Warren not on board with Broncos’ request to cut his pay | ProFootballTalk

May come to a point where the Broncos simply release him..they aren't going to honor the contract money they originally offered him.

I don't know if Belichick would be interested in taking him back, perhaps for a $2M one year deal, but that's too high IMO.

After a severe injury and a year away from the game and being in his 30s,not sure if he's worth anything more than vet minimum now.

I thought they let him go because they thought his injury finished him. Didn't know he was still playing.

Maybe he should try producing on the field for the first time in several years.

Wouldn't be against bringing him in to training camp for the vet minimum, mostly because there's a shortage of guys on the roster who we know can play the 3-4 DE anyways. Also don't expect much from him at this point, though.

I've always thought Ty is a great guy and I admire him for going back to get his degree. He was also a terrific player for us. But, he missed last year with an injury and he's not a young guy so the reality of finances in the NFL might be somewhat eye-opening for him, but he's a bright guy and those realities shouldn't be.

I find it an amusing point of discussion that players want their salaries escalated the moment they start performing yet don't believe it's a fair request when they fail to perform and their salary contracts. Then again, I'm a person who believes that contracts should be honored once the sides have agreed and signed. I'm an old fashioned, outdated fooled who fails to realize that contracts are worthless pieces of paper.

If he's got his weight back up and can still play the game, he'd be the second best D-lineman on the team again. I see no problem with looking at him if he gets cut.

Where you are going wrong here is that they are honored. The problem isn't that either party isn't honoring the contract they signed. They are. You don't like the language? Easy, don't sign it and go somewhere else for another contract you do like.

I have a suggestion for the bleeding hearts out there that always seem to think these guys are being taken advantage of unfairly by the meany owners: Learn what a contract is. It's an agreement by two parties that can and will be enforced legally if need be.
