IF the pats don't keep 4 QBs and Cassell or Gutierrez is on the trading block....
Who do you think are any prospective trading partners? Who needs a better 2nd or 3rd qb?
Or is the market for either of these guys so little that everyone would just wait til the Pats cut them?
Does anyone think Gutierrez would survive waiver wire to make PS? (I don't).

First, let me say I don't think the Pats will keep four QBs.
As for the trading possibilities, teams are always looking for QBs, so I wouldn't worry about that. Could be anyone really depending on injuries and/or effectiveness.
But as for the trade value of these two, I dont think this question can be answered until after the preseason games. I'd say this minute they cant get much more than a 7th for either one of them. I wouldn't hold my breath for much more than a 6th anyway.
I also doubt Gutierrez would survive until the PS, unless he is awful in the preseason games (while still playing well enough in practice that BB wants to keep him around).
There is NO value on any of the other QBs besides Brady - Cassell is not even worth a 7th rounder IMO at this point.
I'll be surprised if we end up releasing one of the Matts. With the lack of QB out there I think it's unlikely we wouldn't be able to get a low draft pick for one of them.
So far it seems like Cassel has had the better camp. We'll see how it goes in the pre-season games. I agree with others that getting anything more than a 7th is wishful thinking.

Gutierrez should make the team
I agree, but what if we paid for the remainder of their salary?
My guess, Cassell and O'Connell are kept and Gutierrez goes to the practice squad. I know a lot of people think that just because Gutierrez plays for the Patriots he will be immediately snatched up when he hits the waiver wire but I don't see it happening. A team would have to sign him to their 53 man roster. Giving up a roster spot to an undrafted QB, with zero game experience and no knowledge of the system is a very high risk move.
If the Patriots do send Goots to the P.S., and if he cleared waivers, I imagine they'd offer him a LOT of $$$ (relatively speaking), as they've done for guys like Gorin in the past. Keep him there and happy.

If you mean trading them while still paying their salary (as the Red Sox are doing with Manny), I don't think the NFL (or the CBA) would allow that.

Well, it's saying something that the Pats kept him on the 53 last year. I'm not saying he can't make the PS, but the Pats didn't think it was likely then, so I don't know why he'd be more likely now.

Barring an amazing 2-3 preseason games this year, I don't see MG or MC garnering much more than a 5th in trade. And that is a pretty big stretch. If one of them plays lights out, maybe they could get a 4th, in an ideal scenario.
But more than likely I think MG gets cut and hopefully makes the PS.

One difference is that last year they didn't have 3 young backups in camp. They had 2 and Father Time. Dad got cut.
I wouldn't rule out Gutz getting picked up by another team for their regular roster. If he has a decent preseason, he's competing for a roster spot among the other 20 or 30 young QBs holding the 3rd spot. They know their team's playbook. Gutz might look better in game action.
That's something we wouldn't know, unless we watch and evaluate all the other scrubs. But the Pats scout all other teams, their needs and their rookies, and will judge that against the risk of losing some other bottom-of-the-roster player, like Guyton or Redd.
I still think developmental QBs are special because the position is of such singular importance. If Gutz shows anything, they won't cut him.
