Whatever the Herald does, just keep Tomase from taking over Rap's job.

Good for him, but I am going to miss him!

Was going to meet up for a drink in October!

He was basically our only beat writer who would break stories and give info based on sources. For all the great work Reiss does, he rarely does that.

First off, congratulations to Rapoport. He obviously worked very hard at what he did in the short time he was with the Herald.

Second, considering some of the other "talent" on NFLN, this can't be a bad thing for Pats fans specifically or for NFL fans in general. Marshall Faulk, Michael Irvin, Warren Sapp, Deion Sanders, Jamie Dukes, Brian Billick, Albert Breer, Brian Baldinger ... label me unimpressed with the vast majority of what they offer on NFLN.

Third, even though nobody brought the quantity of Pats information to the public that Rapoport did, or as quickly as he did, it's not as if there will be a huge void for intel on the Pats. As fans we're probably a bit spoiled with the number of choices of sports news and analysis to choose from; we still have Jeff Howe, Christopher Price, Mike Reiss, Tom Curran, Greg Bedard, Shalise Manza Young, Nick Underhill, Karen Guregian, the PFW crew, and a dozen other good sources of timely Pats info.

Best of luck to Rapoport on the new gig.

After the SB 42 debacle with Tomase's BS story,Patriot fans began to boycott the Herald and refuse to read anything from them....Then Rap came about as the prominent Pats reporter for them and fans began to once again read and listen to what the Herald offered because Rap was an outstanding man for the job.

Its back to the Herald probably being a second rate newspaper again for Pats fans because it will likely be hard to replace a very good employee who gave us info quickly and with substance and facts.

He provided facts and analysis as best he could, with a responsible attitude and a pleasant demeanor. What's not to like?

Best wishes to him in his new gig!

I'm actually kind of suprised by this. He's great on twitter and he always tweets the info rather quickly....but, he's not a great analyst and his stuff is kind of "gossipy." I've always thought he would be better suited for a place like TMZ.

A joke. I find their Sunday morning pre-game show absolutely pathetic. Thursday night telecasts are miserable. I do enjoy the "a Football Life" series though.

Not sorry to see him go, he was a decent reporter, but IMHO there are more than a few local Pats beat writers with just as much skill and far less attitude. From my view, he'll have a very hard time living down tweeting at Myra Kraft's funeral, that reflected so poorly on his judgment. Hopefully he will have a great career at the NFL network and change my opinion of him.
