Default "They can't stop a nose bleed"

So tell me what has changed since Bart Scott pointed out the oh so obvious?

What's the point in giving up all those yards? It doesn't get you anywhere and are you seriously gonna rely on Vince Wilfork and the D Line to be at their best every game while relying on Tom bailing you out just so you can win?

The Patriots evidently don't win when Tom plays anything below his best because the D just doesn't give him time on the field, other teams with mediocre QB's like the 49ers and the Ravens can rely on their Defense to get them far but it is very very rare that we can fall back on our D and expect to win the same goes for the Saints and Packers who need Brees and Rodgers to be lights out every night.

God help us if a player like big Vince gets injured.

For me this draft is all about defense, defense, defense unless we can somehow get Blackmon otherwise just forget it and go for the bigtime defensive players in the draft and get someone ala V-Jax in the offseason to sort out athletic deep threat deficiencies.

The funny thing is even if Wes makes that catch and gets the win we should still have stuck with this draft tactic above because we would've been deluded to think we stood a chance next year with this bend but don't break system again because you're asking for 5000+ from Brady every season then.

The Pats defense gave up 19 points to a team that averaged 24.6 PPG in the regular season and scored 24, 37, and 20 points in their other playoff games this season.

And they probably give up less if not for Manningham's amazing catch. Some people (the OP, not Rob) need to get a grip. I'm not a fan of our defense but they did fine in this game.

Don't bother Rob...the haters have been saving up all their hate waiting all season to finally get a chance to vent, rant and rage....look at it this way, every single game except for this one has been killing these crybaby turds all season because all they want is to hate and hate and hate on the team as much as they can .

Just sit back and try to be amused...the Pats will be back in the thick of it next season and they'll still be here crying like spoiled little brat babies every time they lose.

Yeah I see what you mean. It's ridiculous that we have a defense that can't hold the other team to under 17 points.

This loss was not on the defense in any way, shape or form.

Didn't you get the hint when your last thread was moved? You don't need your own thread to complain about stuff. There's already a thread for that.

Ridiculous, you need a D like the 49ers not ours. Honestly anything better than Alex Smith and that team stomps in the SB, same goes for the Ravens anyone slightly better than Flacco and they would have had our number in Foxborough no questions asked.

An elite QB in the 4th quarter exposed us again. I could easily make a case for us getting a crazy deep threat to partner our elite TE's and we could make the SB again with that.

Our front is the only good thing about our D everyone else except maybe Chung is dispensible.

It comes down to making a play when you need it... and they never do that. 03, 04 defense always came up with a big play.

IT's not about stats... my god, when did we ever care about Stats.. Peyton has stats, we win championships...

You can keep your statistics, I'll keep my perspective on what I see on the field, and I see a unit which never can rise up for the moment and make the play when the team needs them too.

I'm not venting, venting would be unfairly criticizing Tom when he actually played alright and was let down by his receivers and the secondary the same way Rodgers was against the Giants.

By the way the reason they keep the scoring fairly low is because BB is a genius defensive mind who comes up with incredible redzone schemes with limited talent on the back end.

It's not because we have playmakers that we don't give up loads of points it's because they are all well coached. Imagine if we had playmakers that were well coached.......

At the end of the day the talent that you have can only take you so far and Bill did the best he could but the Giants (and everybody elses) receiving talent outweighed our secondaries by a large margin.
