Default Giant VP Mara credits Ryan comment for not cutting Cruz

A Cosmic karma year, Indy and the Jesters finding new ways to suffer.
Pats at home in Peyton's place, and what will become of the beloved number 18?
Jet fans, no place to hide at home, and hey, we want 18,
half a superstar is better than that guy we have.

Meanwhile, back to business as usual for the wicked pissahs.
Raven payback,
potential second payback about some game or another from the past.

Super Bowl, 5 times for BB and B.

Things are good.
**************

All the gabbing comes back to bite Rex,
as even upper giant management gets into the trash talk.
That is, trash talking about someone who talked too much.

They seem to have not picked up on the script.

Victor Cruz came close to getting cut in 2010 | ProFootballTalk

According to Mara, Giants fans have Rex Ryan to thank for Cruz making it through the final cut. Cruz scored three touchdown passes to spice up an otherwise unmemorable preseason game between the Giants and Jets in the summer of 2010 and Ryan raved about him after the game. The voluble Jets coach went so far as to say he hoped the Giants cut him so that the Jets could pick him up. That helped the Giants make the decision to keep him because they felt sure that Cruz wouldn’t clear waivers and make it to their practice squad.

Default Rex Ryan opens his big mouth; caused Giants to keep Victor Cruz

Quote:
The Giants would’ve preferred to stash Cruz on the practice squad while he made the adjustment from UMass to the NFL. But his three-touchdown performance against the Jets in the preseason opener, the film that came with it and a quote from Rex Ryan all combined to save his Giants career.
“I hope they cut him,” Ryan said after Cruz torched his backup defensive backs. “I know one team that would be ready to sign him, and that’d be us.”

I'm sure Wrexx's comments had nothing to do with the decision. But, I appreciate the dig at a fellow NY team.

Default Rex Ryan's big mouth helped the Giants decide to not cut Cruz

Giants Should Thank Rex Ryan For Super Bowl Run | NFL Soup

Cruz is an amazing story from a player on the bubble of making a team to a superstar in the making and Rex Ryan's big ass mouth kept the Giants from a close decision of whether or not to keep him on the roster instead of Derek Hagan.

Hard to think Rex's mouth may have had a play in the Giants success but without Cruz, the Giants do not win yesterday...or even make it this far.

Cruz was devastating in SF and pretty darn good last night.

I still think of all the things Cruz has accomplished in his short NFL career, I think him making Ryan lose his appetite was his greatest achievement. That is something that few have ever done.
