Default Giants radio

Driving to New York to visit my mom, I had the "pleasure" of listening to several hours of Giants radio. While a lot of it was b.s., there were some comments I thought interesting:
- Eli is as motivated as Brady because if he wins, he becomes an elite QB who get into the Hall of Fame.
- Eli is also highly motivated because the game is being played in the House that Peyton built.
- Brady has one of the fastest releases in the game, so the Giants must find a way up the middle to put pressure on him.
- Bradshaw is better than BJGE, but BJGE doesn't fumble, and that could be the difference in the game.
- That said, Brady is more likely as of late than Eli to throw an interception.
- Coughlin and BB in terms of game prep is a wash!
- Wilfork will have to have an even better game than he did against the Ravens if we're to control the Giants' passing attack.
- BB is a great coach, but should be fired as GM because he was reduced to using Edelman on D. "That should have never had to happen."
- Gronk is key to the Pats chance of victory, so his injury figures big. Dwight Freeney played in SB with a high ankle sprain, and was good in the first half, but his ankle stiffened during the long halftime and he wasn't a factor in the second half. A former Giants player--Roman Oben?--said that he thinks Gronk will be able to play because there's some sophisticated medical science out there now to speed the recovery of high ankle sprains.
- Pats secondary playing better, but if we can't pressure Eli no way our secondary can handle their WRs, who are playing great.
- If the Pats can run the ball against the Giants, who haven't been good against the run, it could be a major problem for the Giants.
- Brady seems to have lost his touch in the playoffs, and maybe is past his prime. That said, someone said that Joe Montana had three less-than-stellar seasons between SBs, so don't count Brady out.
- Giants secondary isn't that great, but the Pats don't have much of a vertical game, so the Giants should be okay there.

Some of those points seem to make sense. This Patriot team is far from perfect and is, perhaps, the most flawed of all of the other SB teams under BB's watch. Only time and an awesome game plan will tell if the Pats can pull it out.

This. I have no issue with most of those points, my issue is just that they focus 100% on NE flaws and ignore NYG flaws, assuming you didn't just choose to ignore the parts about the Giants flaws if they talked any, but at the same time, its NY radio, I don't expect them to bash their SB rep.

if that's what he needs for motivation, good for him

silly

more importantly, the giants need to figure out how they're going to cover gronkandez

the giants are dead last rushing the footbal........dead last

WTF does this mean? as of late......idiots

Quote:

given that the giants are weaker up the middle than either the ravens or the broncos, this is likely

how many teams has BB taken to the SB as a GM? that's what I thought

and what happens if the giants can't get pressure on brady? they will lose and lose big.......game over.

as with any team

better percentage than manning.....he didn't have to throw 58 times to put up 20 points

Quote:

if that's what they think, great!

Wilfolk completely dominated vs Balt...but he has to do better than that vs NYG?

Also, I ignore any comments about who is motivated and why. It's the superbowl. They'll are motivated. No story here.

Much more balanced than I would have thought possible.

I think that the (Giant) fans beat the packers and 49ers and the NFC has better teams. Thus, they view the AFC as a weaker conference and they feel like it's 2007 all over again. I can understand why they would be supporting their team.

Still, the Giants have weaknesses and they can ignore that all they want. I'm sure Coughlin isn't happy with what the team did against the 49ers and maybe they blame the weather in part. They too will have to be sharper than they were to beat the Patriots. You can pretty mcuh spout the same arguements and it would apply to each team. Better offenses, defenses on the rise.

If I'm BB, I would line up Wilfork over David Bass. That is such a mismatch it's not even funny. Matt Birk is a probowler and even he couldn't handle Wilfork.

I think everyone who is picking the Giants are completely overrating their success over the past few weeks. Yeah they won a few games and are very hot right now, but c'mon they were handed the NFC Championship by the 49ers who had so many miscues. Also, the packers were dropping passes left and right in addition to awful coaching decisions. Patriots can win this game, they just can't make the same mistakes these other teams did against the giants.

He made Birk look like one of those blue "dummies" that they push around during training camp and practices (I forget what they're called at the moment).
