Tebow has nothing to do with the media making such a big deal out of him. It has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with a lot of people who think he sucks, so when he gets an opportunity he becomes a gimmick. Any little thing he does well sparks a debate that maybe he doesnt suck. When his team wins in spite of him, he gets credit for 'magic'.
He isn't asking for it. He consistently makes it about his team. Every question about him doing something well is answered by talking team.
He isn't asking for the attention.

heh...yeah...toxic... like listening to Jim Jones or David Koresh...cynicism is warranted in today's landscape after DECADES of Jimmy Swaggerts, Jim Bakkers,Ted Haggards,Kenneth "Dad" Hagins,Robert Tiltons and Marjoe Gortners...it's STILL a free country...YOU are free to listen to whomever strikes your fancy...I'll remain cynical which is MY informed choice.
What on earth do your rights have to do with what I said?
The world is primarily made up of good people and we let the incessant onslaught of negative media feed into our fears to such a degree that people see a guy using his celebrity to reach out to a sick person and assume that Tebow has ULTERIOR MOTIVES.
Defaulting to cynicism is a horrible way to live and I seriously feel bad for you and those like you.

If I was a Bronco fan, I would be really apprehensive about Tebow being my QB after that pres conference. My opinion of him is that he's the worst QB in the league (throwing the ball, accuracy, tight spiral, ability to read the rush, make adjustments, ball release speed and a lot of other things).
However, the really scary thing is that he thought it was a good day because he spent some time with a sick kid on game day. I don`t care if you`re a saint off the field, all I want my QB to think and do on game day is do whatever they need to win and the attitude he showed in the press conference is of one who does not really take this game as seriously as he should.
Come on Man.
He wasn't saying winning doesn't matter. He added a comment that he helped a kid so how could that be a bad day, to add perspective. Rip Tebow all you want, but the guy has been described as the most competitive person his coaches and teammates have ever been around. There are many things to rip him for, why take the lame way and make one up?
Tebow did the same things last year when he was ignored by the press as a 2nd stringer. Didn't see him seeking the spotlight......

"Some guys play in all-star games, some guys don't. I don't know who picks all those all-star teams. In all honesty, I don't know who picks the combine, for that matter," Belichick said. "How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
I don't mean that exclusively as a snarky challenge. I mean, it's entirely possible that you, as opposed to the rest of us, have actually met the guy F2F and/or personally been round him often enough and long enough in non-media-driven settings to truly get a less "filtered" perspective on what he's like as a person.
Does his ego/desire for attention seem really more than what is pretty much required of any QB who hopes to play in the NFL (much less be successful as a pro)? Is he maybe a little more evangelistic about his faith/charitable works than others (which might be a motive apart from and beyond sheer self-aggrandizement for seeking extra media attention)? Does he seem sufficiently self-aware to (1) understand that his success-despite-being-unconventional story has been latched onto and blown all out of proportion by the media doing what it always does, and (2) to have decided to just roll with it until it passes? Or does he seem more like the Kardashian type, wanting to keep the "Tebow Train" going so as to bask in the personal adulation/notoriety for as long as possible?
I mean, I've never been a position to actually know the answers to such questions about Tebow, so it would be kinda nice to hear directly from someone who has been in that position.

So is being a lemming for whatever the media force feeds you. Especially when it's a 24 year old football player made out to be a higher being. Some of us live in the real world and some live in the land of puppy dogs, sunshine, ice cream and Tim Tebow.

what do MY rights have to do with anything??? a little blinded by zealotry aren't you??? I stated it is YOUR RIGHT to think how YOU want as it is MY RIGHT to think how I want...you see John 3:16 under the eyes as "not a religious message!!!"...I'm raised Catholic..to me THAT IS a DEFINITE religious message...once again, get this through your thick skull...YOU can think what YOU want and I'll think what I want...for you to infer I'm a horrible person and YOU seriously feel bad for me is ridiculous, over the top pseudo religious pedantry.
Just listened to his press conference. He called it a good day because he got to help a kid.
Its real hard not to like the guy.
It's too bad the media is so obsessed that their obsession makes people dislike him.

Child, please.
People shunning attention don't crash the Super Bowl with ads about abortion BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN DRAFTED.
Sure, he's not looking for attention. How naive.
I happen to like him and think he's a wonderful role model. But he's a lousy QB and IS looking for attention - - every minute of the day.
You must be the last person in America to realize Tebow is after something far different and bigger than football. Football is secondary to the message with him.
