Depends on what the story is.

They stood by Willie Andrews—a similar "marginal" player—after his "first strike" (possession and intent to distribute); it wasn't till after his second strike (assault with a dangerous weapon) that he got cut.

That said, there is a non-zero chance that Edelman gets dumped over this.

No it wouldn't, but it is clear where is head is. You are fringe player, if you want to help the team or become a starter, you don't stay up that late in a bar.
