Default Who will lead the team in rushing?

It isn't as obvious as you think. Before you just say, "Maroney," think about it. Besides injuries, there is the "We are leading send Ekel/Evans in and keep running it" factor.

The leading Rusher could be Eckel/Evans/ or whomever they pick up as as a 4th/5th RB getting boku yards in junk time.

You assume there will be "junk time"...I don't think this team will take its foot off the gas at any point this year any more than they did last year. The only ? for me is will it be Morris or Maroney, if both are healthy and split time.

Why are Eckel and Evans in the conversation.

Maroney with the only doubt being injuries but as he's no more likely to get hurt than Morris, it's Maroney. E/E ? Forget about it.

I believe it will be a 2 headed monster during the season until December, with 39 getting about 65% of the carries. Then, in the playoffs he will be the bell cow.

Season stats:

Maroney- 1000+ yds.
Morris- 600+ yds.

This team will still be a dominant passing team, but the run/pass % will be much higher and this team will be a strong running team. The ball control will only make the D that much better.

Would you like to make a wager?

Sammy Morris should be second. Evans might be third (or faulk). Eckel might be unemployed.

Frankly, I'd prefer this team to rush more and rely on the pass a little less this year. Losing Morris changed the dynamic of the offense once he went down. Run more!!

Can I hijack this thread?

Which RB will have the most receiving yards? Has to be Maroney or Faulk, right? But which one?

But... Didn't they win all the games but one and break scoring records? Isn't that the point of the offense? My wishes for the offense are simply to score more points than the defense gives up, whether they run or pass. I always hear the "run to set up the pass" talk, but really I want the offense to be as close as possible to what it was last year. Why not?

Neither Evans or Eckel are talented runners.... They are decent at best, and unless Maroney Faulk and Morris are hurt, they won't be getting the bulk of any carries. That would be bad for us!

How do you know we will be "leading" all the time. How long you been a fan, couple years?

I think Maroney turned a corner at the end of last season. He was hitting the hole more decisively and with more explosion and it paid off with over 100 yard performances in 4 of his last six games. Maroney will lead the team in rushing barring injuries next season.

He has the potential of rivalling Corey Dillon's performance in 2004 if he can stay healthy since everyone will be out to stop Brady, Moss, and Welker and rarely put 8 in the box (maybe not even 7 in the box a lot).
