It doesn't matter what he says - Nick isn't the one on trial because he admitted using and illegally purchasing the pills - he is. This isn't nuclear physics folks, and it isn't some riveting crime drama either. Is it a little glimpse at the seedy underbelly of the NFL? Duh...welcome to reality.

I think we could do a lot better at RT. I wanted BB to draft one in the first. That said, Kaczur is not getting suspended for this any more than Alexander or Faulk did. And he won't get cut unless Bill believes he's become the 5th or 6th best tackle on the roster. Remember too, Goodell struggled with suspending Vick even after he was indicted on multiple felony counts because it was technically his first offense. And yet when Rodney was caught as collateral damage in a steriod sting, the hammer came down in like 72 hours - because it was hgh and he admitted purchasing and using it.

This guy certainly sold to others besides Kaczur. Maybe he sold to another member of the team. But we won't know that unless he names them, and even then that won't help him because the DA isn't interested in who got the pills, he wants to know where they came from. He's not interested in misdemeanor offenders - he's looking for felony dealers he can convict.

Really, the media is right about people lapping up and subconsciously wanting sordid speculation and tabloid trash fed to them. I know it's the dog days of June for NFL fans, but this is ridiculous. I swear it's like some here have to have a player or two on teir team they can hate on...must be one of those things that convinces them they are objective...
1. I was correcting someone else's false statement that you need to get money to be found guilt of distributing.

2. I am not saying he was giving the pills to other team mates, I was saying it was more probable than him selling them. (Which btw the DA would not be interested in them, but Godell would put them as well in stage one of the SAP)

3. I don't hate Kaczur.

Lost in all this hoopla is has Kaczur improved?

Seems he had some upside when we first drafted him. Also seems that even as a RT he is a bit slow to seal the corner. He is what he is and IMO he is the weak link in the line.

So, either this life changing event will help make him better or we're in trouble because IMO he sucks. I know we needed DB's and LB's but I was dissappointed we didn't get at least 1 RT this draft. If he heads north count me in on the "glad he's gone" list ... and it has nothing to do with his arrest.

Do you think every player caught with a cache of drugs is called into the commissioners office and asked if he shared his stash wih any teamates? 'Cause I don't for very obvious reasons.

Goodell couldn't put anyone anywhere absent more evidence than he said he said...the union would not tolerate infringement on their members rights based on heresay testimony any more than Goodell could wher Walsh was concerned (he'd need to provide some tangible proof of his allegations or they'd remain no more than that). You don't go into the program or advance within it absent an arrest related to a substance or a positive random test or your own public admission. Some guys fight tooth and nail to resist admitting guilt even when caught dead to rights because they don't want the program hanging over their heads for 6 months to 2 years during which time they can be suspended. I'm not even sure Faulk is in the program - he submitted himself for independent testing the next day to prove that while he was in possession he was not using. He didn't do that for chucks.

Your opinion is what this board is all about. But you do understand that no one on this board possess the skills required to really evaluate any of our players, don't you?

Earlier, I said

"... if Belichik values his skills, I really hope Nick stays. Personally, I have no reason to want him to leave."

In other words, the only opinions that mean anything are those of Bill Belichik and his staff. If they see Nick as valuable, then he's valuable and that is the final word. They are definately the experts and none of us are.

I realize there are some people here fanatical enough to attend workouts and practices, but even their opinion hold little weight. And I believe there are actually some here who see themselves as experts, but they aren't no matter how many open practices they attend.

In the end, you may very well be correct and Kaczur is gone, but it will only be the result of the Patriots coaching staff's evaluations.

If this is Kaczur's first offense, I believe that it would violate the collective bargaining agreement for the Patriots to cut him for that reason. They could of course say they were cutting him for talent/performance reasons, but it would not be easy.

The logic behind the policy is that if players can be cut for a first offense, they would never come forward for treatment. Of course when you are busted by the cops, you aren't coming forward yourself, but I think this is the policy. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. He won't be cut.

They put Kaczur on the field while he was doped up.

Imagine how happy they'll be to have him if his play improves from is head clearing.

F.B.N., I was not referring to YOU talking like you think you're an expert. I should have made that clear in my original post. I was referring to a couple of elite members, if you know what I mean. They'll often drop the fact that they observed so & so at a few practices and noticed such & such and then offer some "real expert" analysis. As if they have some inside knowledge or something.

Thankfully, there aren't many like that on this board.

I was just making an observation based upon my heavy addiction to Law & Order In a sting operation, they never move in until money is exchanged. So it must be difficult to prove if no cash is laid upon the table.

Supposedly, the legal definition of "intent to distribute" is based upon the perceived state of mind of the person caught with the drugs. Seems pretty arbitrary to me.
