I think I have to go with disappointed, most people who have any clue about football and the NFL would have to admit that winning 18 out of 19 games is pretty impressive. It just really sucks that it was the last one that they lost, and not to take anything away from the Giants or there fans but if you were to ask who was the best team in the NFL last year it was the Patriots, not the Giants.

I won't be buying any "18-1" plaques for my wall if that's what you're asking
I am ashamed of the piss-poor offensive productivity in the Super Bowl. We were just stifled on key 3rd downs all day. Only a handful of teams in SB history have gone 57 minutes into the game with only 7 points. We're talking about the highest-scoring offense in league history here. It truly was a shame.
Yesterday I was giving a friend a hard time about Auburn-Alabama (he's a huge Auburn fan, I root for Saban) and he said if I keep it up he's going to buy an 18-1 shirt to irritate me.
I was on a Browns' board and a Pats fan (not me) posted something and a Browns' fan replied : 18-1.
Now, don't get me wrong, I would have killed for 19-0 or 18-1 with the 1 not being the last game. But like I told my Auburn friend, there's a lot worse that you can go through as an NFL fan (on the field, forget the stupid camera) than what we saw last year. The first 16-0 regular season ever. A Super Bowl appearance. It still grinds at me that we lost but last year was still a badge of honor for the Patriots and their fans, not a black mark of embarrassment.
It is strange, but when you think about it, it's all these other fans have. When you want to poke fun at probably the greatest team in the history of the NFL, what do you have? Nothing.....other than 18-1.

No, I'm not ashamed of 18-1 because I know that the people who bring it up are lumped into one of the following groups: Dolphin fans (1-15), Bills fans (7-9), Jets fans (4-12), Chargers fans (franchise history: 0 Super Bowl wins, 1 appearance which ended in the worst blow-out in SB history), and Colts fans (dominant for years, yet only one title to show for it). The rest of the fans that like to throw it in our faces are most likely fans of teams that have never even been to one Super Bowl. Face it, fans of other teams are jealous of the Pats' success over the last 8 years. Most of them would give their left nut to go 18-1. Jealousy is a powerful emotion.

Honestly, I'm just a little bummed about the superbowl. As a Patriots fan, of course I was disapointed. As a football fan/player, I have to give credit where credit is due. The Giants flat out kicked the crap out of the Pats that day. They had the personel to execute the scheme to beat the Patriots.
They came out and did work for 60 minutes. They deserved to win that game. There's no reason to be ashamed of a team earning a great upset win. If it had been officiating (cough cough Colts), poor play on the Pats or a host of other factors then yeah, I would have been upset. But another team just playing out of their skulls and earning a W is nothing to be upset about.
18-1 and the best Super Bowl game I've ever seen in my life. Yeah, we lost, but we still won 18 games in a row on the way to it, and that's not changing.
Name me a team that has done that, and I'll listen to their fans talk **** for eternity.
Losing the SB stung... but the season had so much drama. it was like we played in three SB's.
We played in a ton of "Super Bowls" last year:
Week 2 vs SD - we had to validate 6 years in 60 minutes in front of a national audience
Week 6 at Dal - "Duel in Dallas" anyone?
Week 9 at Indy- "Super Bowl 41.5" - need I say more?
Week 17 at NYG- this game was carried by 4 channels in Boston, unreal
SB42 - the "real" Super Bowl, but our 5th of the season
