Nantz is the first major media member to suggest the obvious.

God bless Nantz. But let's keep perspective here.

He's the CBS guy who will be telecasting at least 4-6 times from a barcalounger in Bob Kraft's brand new CBS Scene at Gillette.

That being said, after watching that a second time, he makes a very solid, fundamental point.

Not to mention Moss' distraction. That conveniently disappeared after the SB.

That Jim Nantz sticks out like a sore thumb doesn't he??
Nantz is the 1 in the 100/1 anti-Patriot/pro-Patriot mediot ratio.
It's a lonely job but somebody's gotta do it. Thanks Jim!

I found the comparison to the Duke Lacrosse team very significant.

By Sunday, will Arlen Specter be Mike Nifong?

Except for the fact that, in spite of it all, we had that game won, until an amazing Giants drive and some extreme near misses (the Manning near sack/scramble!).

I don't see the value in pinning that loss on external factors other than creating some weird lie to make us feel better about it.

Actually Jonathan Kraft made mention of this on WEEI today, saying that he felt that on the Saturday before the Super Bowl, the film and scouting staff had much better things to be doing than to be huddled with the Patriots brass and their lawyers confirming that they were not involved in the taping of the Rams walk through.

Did that detract from their game preparation? I don't think anyone would assert it helped.

But isn't the game plan already in place by Saturday? Of course those resources might have picked something else up on film, but there's no guarantee. External locii of control are not the Patriots' way.
