Default No Comp Picks for the Patriots

Funny how Tully Banta-Cain and Daniel Graham were thought to be legitimate free agent signings by the 49ers and Broncos, yet a year later the Pats aren't given anything for their departure.

Cincy lost Eric Steinbach and that must have equaled a 3rd round comp pick. Why they got another 3 comp picks is not understood to me. They lost Kelly Washington, Tory James, Marcus Wiklins, Tony Stewart and Kevin Kaesviharn.

Baltimore lost AD Thomas, Aubrayo Franklin, Ovie Mughelli and Tony Pashos. AD's loss means a 3rd, but the distribution of the fourth, sixth and seventh is beyond me.

Atlanta got a 3rd for Patrick Kerney, which I totally understand.

Washington also got a 3rd but lost London Fletcher-Baker and Derrick Dockery. I was surprised they didn't get anything after that but a seventh.

Supposing the Bills got a 4th for the loss of Clement.

St. Louis got nothing for Kevin Curtis and Arizona got nothing from lossing Leonard Davis, but maybe a seventh in both cases.

Very interesting.

It also is dependent upon the levels of free agents you sign that year as well. Obviously the Patriots were not going to be getting compensation picks, as despite losing two mid-tier free agents they brought in arguably the two most prized guys in the entire class in Adalius and Stallworth.

Hardly. Someone will surely post the comp pick rules for you shortly.

There are too many threads regarding the comp picks floating around to re-post the rules. Its not surprising at all that the Pats didn't get any since that's what people have said since September of LAST YEAR.

Well I "hardly" believed the Pats would had gotten any comp picks this season and I am sure that there is some proper formula used to ensure the fairness of the process. None the less, the Bengals and Ravens got some nice picks out of their loses.

31 teams were awarded a comp first round pick for the pats being so good and we included the giants because it was a fluke.
