Default Schefter: Pacman Jones to Dallas is Imminent

Quote:
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports a deal that would send suspended CB Pacman Jones to the Cowboys is imminent.

The Cowboys and Titans reportedly spent Thursday working out the deal. Tennessee is asking for a third-round pick, while Dallas is only offering a sixth-rounder. However, it won't be too hard to bridge that gap by making the pick conditional. Dallas appears confident Jones will be reinstated for 2008
Schefter + Imminent = Just about offical.

So yeah if Pacman has another big year this year and stays out of trouble - I'm going to be really pissed. If he starts making it rain again and is once again kicked out - then maybe I can feel better...

Hey Pacman, do you know that there are alot of great strip joints in the DFW area?

The coke is really very good too.

Michael Irvin and Eric Williams told me that.

You should partake in all of earths bounty!!!!

Pacman for a 3rd? Goddamn, I'd think the risk is worth it for a guy of his talent.

Not me. Has anyone ever said good things about this guy? The differences between him and Randy are many - but the most glaring seemed to be that Moss' teammates almost always spoke highly of him.

Everybody says Pacman is an a-hole.

Seems like a better fit in Dallas.

FWIW, on E*PN's crawler this morning, they were reporting that Dallas' most recent offer was a 7th + an unspecified player.

Is Bum's son the guy you want to bring Pacman under control? Yeah, he kept TO happy by stroking his ego, but how long will that last if things go bad? Patrick Crayton ego is beginning to get too big for the Cowboy's locker room. Add Pacman to the mix and a three or four game losing streak. I can see Wade Phillips losing control pretty quickly.

As for Pacman here, I don't compare him to Dillon or Moss. Both Dillon and Moss were older and longed to play for a winner after years of playing for a loser. I don't think Pacman is in that boat. Pacman still doesn't seem to have "gotten it" yet. He talks a good game that he changed, but he then goes back to the strip club after the camera is turns off. He is the same guy who just months ago went to strip club the night before he was to meet with Goodell to discuss his reinstatement.

Pacman is a guy who puts himself in positions where he can get into trouble by being in the wrong places with the wrong people. Moss' and Dillon's problems primarily dealt with their frustrations with losing (at least at the times we traded for them). Pacman is a far bigger risk than either of those guys were.

I guess if we could have gotten him for a late round pick, I wouldn't mind. But I still don't know if he will be like Dillon and Moss and turn around himself on a new team even with the structure of the Patriots. The Pats don't just take every problem child with talent.

BTW, one good thing to come out of the Cowboys acquiring Pacman would be that the likelihood of a trade between the Patriots and Cowboys if McFadden falls to #7 seems to be far more likely now that the Cowboys have addressed their biggest defensive need. Granted with the Raiders adding Kalimba Edwards yesterday, the odds of McFadden dropping past them are slimmer and slimmer.

Where do you think this team is going to drop 3-4 games in a row? The Cowboys may not drop that many all season.
