ANALYSIS
Some thoughts on the Patriots and Randy Moss:

When the deadline for placing the franchise tag on players passed – and the Patriots did not tag Randy Moss – the tone for negotiations was set.

While the Patriots could have restricted Moss’s free-agent movement with the tag, they apparently decided that it was a better approach to play nice. Moss, they likely believed, wasn’t the type of person who would react favorably to having his options limited, especially after agreeing to restructure his deal (and take considerably less pay) in 2007.

With that in mind, the feeling here is that the ongoing “negotiation” between the Patriots and Moss is not contentious.

The Patriots have made an offer to Moss that they obviously feel is a good one.

Moss, on the other hand, obviously isn’t convinced.

So the only way to reach a resolution is for Moss to explore the open market and see if he can find a better deal. If he doesn't, he can come to a better comfort level with what the Patriots are offering.
as usual , most balanced and no rumor mongering analysis like "he is to the packers, cowboys and anyone u can think of"

After the interviews with Belichick and Pioli, you know he is getting some insight from people who know.

Sold analysis, too bad not all who left a comment on his site were too thoughtful... Look at this boneheads remark, comment #2 by "Paula"..

"Moss sounds like he is being GREEDY is he forgeting when NO other team would take a chance on him The Patriots did. and now that they did give him that chance This is how he repays them Moss is greedy. And this is how he treats the Patriots ,"

I think it's disingenuous to act like the Patriots took a huge gamble on Moss and really went out of their way to get him, they acquired him in an outright STEAL, AND he restructured his contract and took a considerable paycut.....

I think he'll be back, but let's not be foolish here. The patriots will still be the patriots without Randy Moss. If he walks, it's his loss and he may never have another shot at a ring. The only person on the team who would lose out would be Brady, who has already said bye to Stallworth and Kyle Brady and probably doesn't know if Gaffney is coming back.

You know the 2nd comment makes a good point.

We gave Moss a chance when no one else would touch him with a 10 foot pole. We have him a chance to set records and play for a SB and basically resurrect his career.

Is that faith not worth some kind of discount?
