Default Drew Bledsoe makes pats HOF!

Congrats Drew Bledsoe! A great Patriot. For those who say he didn't win a superbowl for us, re-watch the 2001 AFC championship game. Without Bledsoe the Patriots do not win that superbowl.

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand I'm happy for Bledsoe, but on the other hand would have much preferred to have seen Houston Antwine get in.

With the current setup of membership being decided by fan voting, there is no way that a player from a previous generation is ever going to get in over a recently retired player. Besides being more fresh in people's memories, Bledsoe (and Parcells) did far more print and radio interviews with local media during the voting time period. Bledsoe had a larger percentage of the vote than any other player in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

While I commend the Patriots for having their fans involved in the process, perhaps Robert Kraft should consider changing how a person becomes a member of the Pats Hall of Fame; otherwise it's going to be somebody in the first or second year of eligibility every single time.

Congrats to Bledsoe. He's deserving of the honor.

Drew deserved the honor. Too bad Antwine couldn't get in too. Glad to see that The Tuner did not make it.

They need to make some type of provision for the veterans as well, Antwine deserved it also..

Certainly Drew deserves it and I'd like to make it down for the ceremony.

But I agree that the older Patriots are at a disavantage when it comes to fan voting. Perhaps Bob Kraft should just name one pre-1975 player, who really desrves it, to the Hall every other year. It's his Hall and he can do what he wants.

Guys they do have a system in place for this as well. This Year Jon Morris will be Joining Drew as the 2011 class.

Quote:
Bledsoe joins Jon Morris, who was selected to the Hall of Fame by the Senior Selection Committee, as the 2011 honorees. Bledsoe and Morris will be inducted in a public ceremony outside The Hall at Patriot Place on Saturday, Sept. 17. The event is free to the public.
