Agreed. Brady had another tough playoff game. OLine was sound.

I never claimed the offensive line was the reason they lost. But the blueprint for beating Brady is clear; I'm sure it's a coincidence that after being hit a few times by the interior pass-rush Brady decides to look shell shocked and ineffective for the duration of the game.

I'd expect my "best in the NFL" offensive line to not give up five sacks (a couple being largely debatable) against a team like the Jets, but apparently my standards are higher than some. I guess to others that's the hallmark of a "sound" offensive line.

The loss can be shared all around. Defense didn't touch Sanchez. WR's were blanketed, part of the reason Brady held on to the ball too long. Offensive line got man handled. as usual by our center getting destroyed by bigger nts. He is a good player despite his one deficiency against certai types of NT's. And yes the game plan for the Jets evidently had Brady confused because he wasn't snapping the ball down by 10 with 8 minutes to go until the play clock reached 05 seconds. Confused or something is fishy in Vegas. BB's gameplan was terrible. For him not to find an adjustment to get your excellent rookie TE's involved is very pedestrian coachig too me.

All in all, Bodden,Warren,Wright and all our other injuries took their toll. We'll be back with a vengeance with a lot more youth from this draft.

This isn't a trick question. If they're not the best, who was/is better than them?

(I think the Jets, Texans, Falcons and Saints all might have had better lines).

Your OL can only protect for so long. Some of them where coverage sacks. The game simply came down to offensive execution.I knew this team was in trouble when they squandered opportunities to start the game. The game was still there in the 4th quarter but the jets maded the plays.

I'm not so sure it's the blueprint for beating Brady. It's more like the blueprint for beating the Patriots - if the Brady and the OL don't dominate, the whole team struggles. Why? Because the RBs and WRs are not terribly fast or elusive. The defense doesn't pressure the QB. And the entire coverage unit (which includes all DBs and LBs) only has 1 playmaker. So every single game is on the shoulders of Brady and the OL to dominate the opponent.

I don't really know about that either. Tom is VERY good at taking what the defense gives him and always gives his receivers a chance to make a play. On more than one occasion Brady took his first and second read down the field and didn't even look into the flats, which he had open players. The Line did just fine, the gameplan was terrible.

The Patriots came out in 5 straight passing plays and barely ran with lawfirm in the first 5 minutes of the game. It looked like the Cleveland game all over again, almost from start to finish.

Brady can make the line look better than they are, he can make them look worse than they are. The exception being SB42 where he didn't really have a chance.

Except in recent playoff games He has been pressing lately and making some awful decisions, ones that you don't even expect some rookie QB's to make. It's like somebody took over his body. Just to name a few the pick was awful, had Branch on the 4th and 13 a very critical play in the game and missed, had other guys open. The play before that, 3rd and 13 instead of hitting a shorter pass to set up a more favorable conversion or maybe even a FG he goes for it all and puts us in that 4th andd 13, out of FG range. Then right before the 2 minute warning in the 4th, about 2:20 left 3rd and long, I know I was thinking this the whole time and I'm sure others were, but if you can't get the first down, THROW IT AWAY and stop the clock. Save the 2 minute warning as a timeout for the defense. Common sense situational thinking.... What's he do, dumps it off to Welker nowhere near the first and it runs down to 2:00. I love the guy, he didn't show up for this game. It's concerning too coming off his very worst playoff performance last year. His pocket presense hasn't been there in these 2 games either. OL really can't be blamed like you pointed out.

Giants, Ravens, & Jets, all had the same blueprint in the 3 playoff losses. Hit Tom in the mouth and he starts searching for phantom pass rushers instead of focusing downfield. If the Patriots have the offensive line that wins the NFL Madden award for #1 protectors in the league, hard to see how next years playoffs will be much different.

This is why I am an advocate for spending all the Free Agent dollars and draft picks on building the defense instead of continuing to build the offense as we did in 2007.
