Default Darius Butler vs. the Packers

Did anybody notice how much Butler played Sunday night?

I thought I saw him multiple times as the third CB in the first half and much less in the second half, but I was paying more attention to who was on the field in the first half.

I did notice a safety playing the in the nickel spot a few times, and mostly in the second half. (notably Chung a few times)

Did Butler play more in the second half than I noticed? and If he didn't, did anybody see a reason as to why he played less?

Defensive snaps: 75 for Big 75 - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Reiss has him down for 6 snaps and says he played in the dime, with a safety being rotated in during nickel situations.

Chung has been the nickelback and covered the slot a lot.

Yeah, Chung is the primary guy, though I thought I saw Page a few times as well.

Hmm. So among our problem-child high-pick DBs, Meriweather is getting the snaps right now over Butler.

All I know for sure is that he at least did not fail at all 6 of those snaps.

When J. Jones scored that long TD I didnt really see who got burned but was literally crossing my fingers that it wasnt 28. Turns out it was McCourty (thank god cause Butler cant afford to get burned, Devin can) and on the replay they showed Butler was blanketing the slot WR. And I mean BLANKETING.

Maybe they wanted a safety in because they were short DL and spikes? Just a thought. I don't think BB game plans based on not liking the guy this week.

New DL Leonard couldn't pick up enough to at least take up space this week?
