Default How come we ain't got an x?
This may be treading the line into the "why does the media respect us" theme, if so a mod can move it.

But it has been widely reported we have clinched a playoff spot.

ESPN has a small x next to our name acknoldging that.

2010 NFL Regular Season Divisional Standings - National Football League - ESPN

However the NFL doesn't.

NFL Standings: Division

The code on the bottom of the page says if you clinch a playoff spot you get an X.

Nope...the reason is that Omissioner Jetdell has decreed that the Patriots only get *'s for the rest of eternity...(or until he is indicted, tried and convicted in federal court on racketeering charges )

The webmaster of NFL.com is a Jets fan and hates the Patriots.

He has also been known to put a higher percentage of Mark Sanchez pictures vs. Tom Brady pictures on the homepage.
