Eric Cassilius (spelling) who is filling in for Mike Greenberg made the argument for Favre over Brady Monday Morning on Mike and Mike. Mike Golic thought he was crazy though. Golic did say that he sees the MVP as the best player in the league and maybe Cassilius takes it as the litteral who is the most important to his team.
NFL Live and NFL Total Access has touched on the subject. Peter King talked about it in his MMQB although he still gives it to Brady.

Well, you hedge your bet now with the word "seriously", which back tracks you to where I came into this thread. "Making an argument for" another guy is not to be taken to seriously challenge the top guy. It's meant to add something to the discussion, to provide counterpoint, and to give some credit to somebody else. I've heard the tone and the intent of the phrase "making an argument for Favre" many times recently, and it's always given in an overall context that Brady is going to be the man, but let's not overlook performances that can break into the outer level of Brady.
Maybe you just don't like it. I don't mind it. I minded Brady not getting it in 2001 and 2003, and frankly am not threatened by that happening this time, nor am I threatened by Favre talk one little bit. Not even a teetsy. Not even a shred. No jealousy, no threat, I actually like the counterpoint and dwelling on somebody else's performance for a moment or two.

Again, you might not have heard or seen the pieces; but there is a piece of the media who truly believes that Favre deserves the MVP title more than Brady. it isn't a huge segment, but they are out there. It isn't "making an argument for Favre". It is "Favre is the MVP".
I think the MVP is for the best player in the league, not the most valuable. The most valuable player to his team in the league almost never wins because the title is usually given to a player on a Super Bowl contender who is putting up crazy stats. That means he usually has a very strong supporting cast around him. If the NFL MVP is the best player, there is no question Brady has this one tied up. In fact, you can make an argument for Moss over Favre in that regards.
