Default After Buffalo, The Underdog Returns

I say we beat Buffalo convincingly, with Tom running a balanced, over-center, attack.

We then go to Miami and absolutely smoke them, leaving us alone atop the AFC East at 3-1, and with the power ranking pundits scratching their heads.

I'm also predicting Miami to edge the Jets Sunday night, much like they did last year on a late September Monday night.

Yeah, but if we are all 3-1 at the end of four games, Jets are first, Pats second and Dolphins third.

If Dolphins win against Jets and we beat Dolphins. Then it's Pats first, Dolphins second and Jets third.

I know it's early, but might as well get out the gates early.

That's true, they'll be undefeated when we roll in, but our victory over them will give us the tiebreaker and sole possession of first place.

At our bye, I'm predicting Jets with 2 losses (Baltimore, Miami).

This team hasn't won a non-Buffalo road game since 2008. MNF in Miami will be a TALL order indeed. Miami is one tough, physical team. We will need to find 2003-2004 vintage stones to get the W.

I understand, but that victory is THE one that will get us over the hump. The Pats will use MNF Gruden's 'overrated' rating to lather them up.

I expect the Pats to come out with a conservative run and short pass offense on Sunday with the defense shutting down the Bills offense.

This defense is only going to get better and I see them making major strides after the bye.

Ironically, the loss of Kevin Faulk will make us a more balanced, more over the center, less shotgun-dependent offense, which in turn will make the offense more complementary to the defense. Interesting that Tom used the terms "not complementary" and "hanging the defense out to dry" when describing the offense's second half woes against the Jets.

And of course, we know we have coming off the bye - Baltimore, with 2 weeks to prepare.
