Practice report

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice on the upper fields behind Gillette Stadium. The team is in shorts/sweatpants, shells and helmets, and the same five players who have not participated in practices this week were absent again for the media-access portion of the workout:
ILB Eric Alexander
S Mel Mitchell
RB Sammy Morris
TE Benjamin Watson
S Eugene Wilson
One would assume this makes these players unlikely to suit up Sunday against the Redskins.
The media was present for stretching, one special teams drill, and one positional drill. In the positional drills, defensive backs caught passes while trying to keep their feet in bounds along the sideline, while defensive linemen attempted to tap fumbles back into the field of play along the sideline as another defensive lineman gathered the ball.
