Right now I don't think that the Trustees of the University would go along with a firing. There are many years and a large amount of money remaining on his contract.

ND isn't just losing games, they are getting pounded.

This is painful. And it's still the first half.

Wow, ND is just awful. As of this moment they've been outscored 156-27 on the season.

Barring a miracle, this sets them to 0-5, and they have UCLA, BC and USC in their next three.

Has ND ever been 0-8? Because they are going to be this year.

They'd never been 0-4 before.

Charlie is OK after this year but next year all but the seniors are his recruits; he'll need to start winning no later than next year.

This is the result of Ty Willingham's terrible recruiting in his final two seasons. The talent on that field is almost nonexistent in the two upper classes. Frankly, it surprises me that nobody points this out, choosing instead to defend Willingham at Weis' expense.

I hope, for Charlie's sake, that his OL and DL recruits are ready to go next season.
