He said Caldwell had a place on the team too.

If Brown is released you may hear from Moss for the first time this year. After his "i'm the second best reciever out of Marshall" comment.

Remember we have no injuries in the secondary as well as receiver. So I think he still has a place.

One of my favorite memories is when he returned that punt against the Steelers in the 02 Championship game. My kids and their cousins were out playing in the yard. They came in and said "what is going on?. We can hear people in houses up and down the street screaming! "

I always tell out of towners that when they ask about living in Boston and the sports scene. We are so spoiled.

Injuries or no, Troy Brown will be back on the 45-man active roster. Book it.

When did he say that?

A thought too hideous to contemplate. Or in black and gold, or blue and white.

If he does have to be cut, it would be nice if they would pay his salary and keep him as a coach for the remainder of the year. This is partly self-interest -- he's so smart, would you want him on another team that plays the Pats?

This could one of those times the owner steps in.

I'm hoping he stays as a coach. However, he'll need a settlement to do that so he doesn't lose his players salary which is a whole lot more than entry coach pay. It would be nice to have a player stay and coach ... really nice.
I know you claim to know something, but I'm calling BS on any such info. There is no value to cutting him for 9 weeks once he was placed on PUP where he is collecting his full but minimum salary as an available experienced body you could need in the blink of an eye. They can as solmon said string that out from weeks 6 to 11 if need before deciding whether or not to activate him. The only reason to cut him would be if he was asking for/demanding his release because he believes he would be playing now elsewhere. However, he agreed to PUP which tells me he would rather see how things play out here. Stallworth is nursing a knee and had injury concerns late in camp, and Washington was inactive with a hammy last week. Belichick is managing Moss gingerly (see 3 consecutive weeks of team decision he doesn't practice on Thursday's...).

If Troy has not sufficiently recovered he will go on IR. If he has he's on record saying he wants to play, not coach, this season or maybe ever. Don't know what part of that some of you can't grasp. He lives in SC in the off season. Coaches don't have off seasons. The generally don't have off days in season. He has a cushier job within the organization awaiting him when he finally does retire here. Not to mention potential to do some radio (as he already does a weekly hour on ESPN).
