I know! Because I've heard showing boxing matches is so much more effective.

"GO: Lenny must have taken some shots at you, I would think, in his little comedy session.

BB: Pretty much of a roast on me.

[Laughter]

SD: Which the players love!

BB: Oh, they did. They did."

As humorless, friendless guys go, BB has some interesting friends and a pretty good sense of humor.

Ssshhhh! Between the AD quote at the ProBowl "I never realized what a great sense of humor Bill has" (or words to that effect) and now this! It's going to ruin BB's image as an evil, cranky, anti social nerd! His players, and friends from all walks of life know the truth, and that's all that he cares about.

It's been Bill Russell, Ernest Shackelton, a horse race, an anchor in the locker room. I was kind of hoping he would break out King Leonidas with his, "This is where we make our stand, this is where we fight, this is where THEY die." speech. BB may be jealous of King Leo's abs.....

I think Lenny is a great idea. He and Denis Leary have been on Sox broadcasts each of the last three season and he is hilarious. During the '04 season they were on and there was going to be a close play at the plate and Lenny starts yelling, "Run like you stole something."

Good move by coach Bill.

I think it was nice to get some levity in the locker room especially after the media crapfest all week long. Very smart move from a very smart coach.
