Default San Diego Union Tribune: Brady has reason to be wary of Chargers' defensive backs

Thought you guys might enjoy a football article from today's paper that doesn't mention CameraGate:

Tom Brady sees the Chargers defensive backs as they would like to be seen by everyone, as they believe they can and ought to be widely perceived.

The New England Patriots quarterback would have you believe the Chargers' secondary is shortly headed en masse to the Pro Bowl.

“We're facing Drayton Florence and Quentin Jammer and (Antonio) Cromartie and a very talented secondary,” Brady said. “Marlon McCree is doing great, and (Clinton) Hart looks like he's fitting in well now. They've got a bunch of playmakers on defense, especially in the secondary.”

And then, of the defensive backs who had the seventh-fewest interceptions in the league over the past two seasons, he said, “They've got a ball-hawking secondary.”

McCree smiled and shook his head at the mention of Brady's abundant praise.

“He'll build you up and make you all comfortable,” McCree said. “And you go out there and it's an air raid.”

Brady says the same thing about everyone's secondary before he plays them.

I think the chargers have one of the best front 7 in the NFL and I respect the talents that they have but think they can be contained with a solid game of run vs. pass in equal dosages

If we get too cute and pass all game we may put Brady in danger and I don't think Brady will have 7 seconds to throw this game but he can have success against that secondary if our running game is to play well and get respect which will take some pressure off blitzes by Williams,Castillo and company

The key to this game in beating the Chargers defense is to have 50-50 run pass with rushing being a huge factor in this game and Maroney in particular must have a good game if we are going to win this one.

Yeah, I think Brady said this about the Jets secondary last week.

Charger's secondary is a weakness, but they definitely have one of the best front seven units right now.

Brady to Media : I think the Chargers front 7 is better than the vaunted Steel Curtain Defense. Infact, their front seven is better than the Doomsday Defense or the 80's Bears, and their Secondary is as good as the Ronnie Lott, Dwight Hicks of 80's 49'ers

Brady thinking to himself : Hmmmm. Randy "Straight Cash Homey" Moss told me 3 TD's just for him per film breakdown on Chargers secondary

It's interesting to note that the SD secondary more than contained Moss in his years with the Raiders, even knocking him out of one game. Then again, I get the feeling he was never giving 100% over there.

Irrespective of whether Brady says this for all the teams, I think he is serious about the Bolts, especially with regard to their front line.

Their defensive game plan would be to rough up Moss a lot right from the beginning and try to hit Brady as much as possible to throw us out of rythmn. I am expecting a very hard hitting game with each team trying to prove to the other that they are the best. Both have enough motivation for doing it this week.

I am hoping that there are no serious injuries and we blow them away.

There's a football game this Sunday? No way! Wow, what time and who are they playing?

I hope the Pats kick ass. Going to be tough though.
