Default This is media sensationalism at its worst

Ok, all the media has from the NFL and the Pats is that an investigation is ongoing about Belichick's misinterpretation of the videotaping rule. Help me out here- when did any NFL sources mention ANYTHING about stealing signals or cheating? Hasn't the NFL said it has made NO OFFICIAL DECISION regarding the matter?

All this sensationalism has allowed the media to run wild with speculation and it seems other teams are teeing off on it. The Steelers, Jaguars, Chargers, Packers, Jets, Bills, Lions - all implicating that the Pats were involved in some sort of foulplay. You think those teams would come out and say that if they didn't have the platform they have today? No chance. Even on ESPNNews they used that bogus "smoking gun" photo w/ the guy in the red shorts.

The Belichick apology is even implied to link it to taping signals. He just apologized for the controversy, that's all. And he said MISINTERPRETATION, people. He wouldn't say that after talking to Goodell unless they agreed it was a misinterpretation. He may get penalized, sure, but this isn't a blatant violation like people think (hope) it is.

This is just getting way out of hand. If the NFL had us red-handed then this should be open-and-shut. Why the deliberation?

Hope your right Rich I'm getting sick of people teeing off on this topic.

That trophy represents the team – I mean that word collectively, that is able to play the best season for the year that it's engraved. It doesn't mean anything about what happened the year before. It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

I don't think there is even a possibility the team will come off scot free from this we WILL see a punishment, what it is remains to be seen

There is so much negativity and hatred for the Patriots that Goodell is almost forced to giving the Patriots not only the guilty conviction but a punishment that is acceptible with Society and satisfies many of the teams that hate NE which unfortunately may end up being a harsh one that hurts us next year somehow.

The thing is, you can stick a microphone in front of most these halfwits and they will have some story that they can use to excuse past failures. It's a feeding frenzy. Cannot wait for this to be over. They better have it done before the game.

What do you expect to talk about this week? - Besides the upcoming game which has been in numerous posts, this is the biggest issue going and you are going to see posts about it like it or not - its not just on the internet but even on talk shows and CNN for crying out loud

Maybe take a break from the forum until this goes over a bit but it won't be soon, watching non stop movies till sunday night or reading books is another suggestion to avoid this stuff - Once Goodell tells us what the punishment will be those types of posts will begin and linger for awhile as well -get ready this is just phase 1
