WTF??? How dare you have the Patriots losing a game.
I never predict individual games because I can't do it objectively. I look at every game and say "the Patriots should win that one." I just can't bring myself to predict a loss. I even did this when they were in the down years.

Re: The Totally Official: Predict the Season thread
Yes, Homer City is your correct address.
With that said I'll go with loses at miami, Dallas and ONE more that always happens. One that you think your going to win before the season starts, but we end up losing...... 13-3
Re: The Totally Official: Predict the Season thread
13-3. Losses to Miami (of course), SD and Dallas. We do Indy and Peyton gets to find out how much he misses Mr Glenn.
After that, it's anybody's and we have as good a chance as anyone. Always remember, though, that we won 3 SBs by a total of 9 points. That's how close it is at the top these days.

Pats lose to Washington and that's all.
Don't ask me why.
I went to washington in 2004 to see them play there. Not only did they lose (they only lost 2 games that year), but the game was extremely frustrating. The Patriots had so many chances to win that game but they just kept making mistakes. On the good side, I got to meet the Murphy crew and a bunch of us had a good tailgate.

Re: The Totally Official: Predict the Season thread
Nut,
on the Pats mailing list (a still extant vestage of the early BBS oriented Internet) we made W-L predictions and then used points scored by the offense (including PATs and FGs) as the tie-breaker. Steve1 from here runs it. Mrs B, Zip, et. al. participate.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
