After the WR corps was overhauled, Bam should have asked to convert full-time to DB. Given that position group's attrition rate, Bam would have stood a better chance of making the 53 from the other side of the field.

Don't act like Kelley Washington is a good NFL receiver. Decent at best. You can't consider it laughable when Washington barely makes the roster.

They'll find out Randy can't run consistently anymore. He'll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy. This is just my personal opinion from what I saw: He's losing his legs. He's becoming an old man fast.

The more I think about this more I wonder why Bam doesn't make the team. I know that we are deep at WR. But he does so much. I wonder if it is smart to cut a player that seems to be good at returns, wr, and can even lineup at running back. I am also pretty sure I saw him in on a few tackles when we punted.
Bam is more versatile then then anyone else we have

I'd be shocked if he made the team, but I'll join in the love fest. It's such a pleasure to watch the way he plays. Lots of spirit, total effort. I really hope he makes somebody's roster, he deserves it.

i will be, once again, very dissapointed if Bam isnt on the 53
what more does he need to do?
-good hands
-fast
-very quick
-played WR done well..did well at CB against Miami that year..he just broke a 25 yard run at TB.
-he can return..he can play gunner.

hes a tough little guy and his hands and versatility are better than Washingtons and Caldwell

Bam has to be the hardest kid to cut imo. you cant really find a reason for him not to be on the team besides theres WRs ahead of him. wherever Bam is, i will forever root for him

Childress made his 1st catch and run over the middle of the field against the NY Giants 1st Team Defense! He filled in at DB against Miami in the last game of the year and showed he can play RB and KR this preseason. A player with that kind of versatility is perfect for BB.

Seems like he may have gone the Troy Brown route according to BB:
http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal.../reiss_pieces/
On receiver Bam Childress: "Bam has showed a lot of versatility. We've also used him on defense. Last year, he played both running back and receiver spots in the Jacksonville game. I think that's one of his biggest strengths, his versatility and his intelligence, the fact he has value in more than one spot."

Damn, last night I was thinking the same thing. He looks like a young Troy Brown, and his situation reminds me of Troy's too, in that Brown was cut, signed, waived, and resigned a number of times before making it. Childress is a tough cookie and max effort player, but I just don't think the situation looks good for him. The Pats are loaded at that position this year.

You sure? I only remember Troy getting cut once. Manuel Tuitele, now, he must have been cut 10 or 11 times.

Anyway, we may be loaded this year at WR, but last year we were desparate and he still couldn't get on the field. He was on the roster and was only activated for one or two games, late in the year when we were resting players, so I don't think his being cut this weekend will have anything to do with our WR situation. He just doesn't have the talent.

Bam isn't close to even young Troy in talent or ability.

Default Troy II

He is very much like Troy, too small, too slow, but a talented football player who does nothing but grab every opportunity and find a way to contribute. Troy was cut outright several times (I believe 6 times) before sticking. Bam has been on the PS but is clearly much improved as a football player. He has shown he can contribute to the Patriots. How you weigh his potential contributions against several others is difficult, and nobody here is inside BBs hed. I would not be at all surprised if he makes the roster.
