Default Could Cassel throw to this stable of WR's?

While we may have been in deep doo-doo if Brady had gone down last year, the prospect doesn't scare me as much this year. Not wishing, just saying.

Vinny could have gotten it done with this group.

Yes. Defending him would be a game of "Try to rattle the youngster with pressure." (As opposed to "Try to rattle the youngster with complex schemes.)

Moss and Welker WILL get open, except against extreme coverage. Stallworth and Watson (and Faulk) WILL get open if the coverage against Moss and Welker is extreme.

Maybe I am wrong, but I do not fear Cassell coming in to replace Brady. Yes, we might lose a few (1-3) games than we might otherwise. However, he has been quite impressive in working with an inferior group of receivers his first two years here while getting a graduate education from the Belichick and Brady masters.

Compared to Colts backup Jim Sorgi, I feel much better with Cassel and most other backup QB's in the league!

Bledsoe will sign a Vet-Min contract with us at some point this season. Retire a Patriot with another ring on his hand. What could be sweeter for a bona-fide Patriots HOFer (Not NFL).

Go ahead and call Drew a statue, but all we have in reserve is a "Castle". If Brady went down I'd take the vet anyday. I like Cassell, but I like Vets better. I think our coach does, too.

Actually, I would rather have Cassell. You might think I'm crazy
Drew may be a veteran but he retired for a reason.

“My favorite ring? I've always said, you know, I always said the next one. The next one is the best,” Brady says.
