In little league baseball we had this thing called "the pitching machine," or just "the machine." It actually scarred me for life, because just before it was decided we would use "the machine," coach tried us all out at pitcher to see if any of us could get the ball over the plate, and I was poised to become the little league Dice-K. But that didn't happen. The Machine pitched that season, and I fed balls into it.

That said: The Machine could throw to this stable of WRs.

Random story, I turned around and bumped into Cassel two weeks ago at Baseball Tavern before the start of a Sox game. I was the only one among my group who recognized him. Just wished him luck and shook his hand real quick, I didn't want to get in the way of his super-hot groupies. It was great for him, it seems like he can mingle with the crowd relatively un-noticed.

I'll be quite satisfied to watch him in preseason and then see no more of him during the season unless we have a humungous lead.

What's amazing is how few current Patriots played with Bledsoe.

On offense I think it's Troy (if he's "current"), Faulk, and Brady himself.

On defense it's Seymour, Bruschi, and Vrabel.

On STs it's Izzo and Paxton. And I think Seymour, Vrabel, Izzo, and perhaps Paxton were all new with the Pats Bledsoe's final year. While Brady of course didn't see the field for as long as Bledsoe was playing.

Question Re: Could Cassel throw to this stable of WR's?

I could throw to this stable of WR's...if, of course, they limit their routes to ten yards downfield and if none of those nasty Linebackers or Defensive Linemen get within ten feet of me.
