Release of regular-season NFL schedule delayedBy Len Pasquarelli
ESPN.com

Fans anxious to begin making plans for the 2007 NFL regular-season schedule will have to wait a little longer.

A league official confirmed Monday that the much-anticipated announcement of the regular-season schedule, originally set for Thursday, will be delayed. The schedule could be released as early as next week now, with the roll-out coming no later than April 19.

The delay was first reported by NFL.com, the league-owned Web site.

The league did announce its full preseason schedule on Monday afternoon.

Last week, at its annual meetings in Phoenix, the NFL unveiled its nationally televised opening week matchups for Sept. 6-10 and its three Thanksgiving Day games. The regular season kicks off Sept. 6 when the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts host the New Orleans Saints.

The league is going to hell in a hand basket (I hope I said that right). First they cancel the China trip and now this. What is going on? (please note the sarcasm)

I think the NFL is a little late on the April Fool's joke. This sucks, I was looking foward to see the new schedule.

Could they be reworking the schedule given the canceled China trip? Could they be looking into moving a bye week for Seattle/NE to a later point in the year given the cancelation of the trip?

Just a thought.

ah, man, what a bummer.

I know that it is officially baseball season, but I still can't get enough football.

Not only is it great to breakdown the Patriots schedule, but it is also great to get a look at the nationally televised primetime games.

I feel the same way. Man, this sucks because it's practically the only football news we get until April 28. Other than that, we have to put up with 8 million differnt mocks and people arguing over weightless topics.

I love baseball and my Reds looked awesome today, but you're right, nothing beats the NFL.

The preseason schedules were released today though. I Fins play the Bucs, Jags every year.

That is exactly what Im thinking.. The whole China Bowl cancelation has to be revised for some adjusting.. Im sure the Pats want a later bye, since they probably were scheduled for a early one.
