Another solid move by the Jets. Their model for building a team it not that far from the one that BB used early in his tenure: Use drafts to build the lines, and fill the holes quietly with solid vets.

Bowens will look good with Ellis, Van Oelhoffen, D Rob and whoever they likely draft there. didn't they sign Bobby Hamilton too?

Well, Kimo might not be long for the Jets anymore. They've also signed Kenyon Coleman to a starter's salary contract. Plus, they signed Michael Haynes and Andre Wadsworth for competition, so Kimo's day may be numbered. Granted, Wadsworth is a very long longshot.

I'll be perfectly honest I know about zero about Bowens.

He could be a decent end-of-career Bobby Hamilton type.
Penetrating DT reborn as a 3-4 end.

He's listed as a DE. In another thread I hypothesized that he would be turned into an OLB if he were to sign with the Patirots or Jets.

Bowens is a rush OLB in a 3-4. Decent player but nothing special. They're not paying him too much, so he should help in a rotation at OLB.

I'd love to see Wadsworth do well.

Aparently they couldn't coax Bruce Smith out of retirement.

It is a good move for their depth. I don't know if Bowens can start. A decent rotational guy.
