Default Can we/Should we pull off a Jet-like deal for Randy Moss?

The majority of Patriots fans believe that Randy Moss is NOT worth a first round pick.

Well, what about if it was a 1st RD pick for Randy Moss + 3rd round pick?

Or replace the 3rd round pick with a fourth round pick. Would Oakland even consider that deal? Would you consider that deal as Pats fans?

*note that the Raiders are drafting second in every round (I haven't checked on their trading of picks, so that may not be entirely accurate).

okay okay, yes, I know, yet another Randy Moss thread. If you are sick of the Randy Moss threads already, well, you should have been able to tell that this was another one by the thread title. So shame on you if you dare enter.

oh, I'm sure you guys were able to figure it out, but the "Jet-like" portion is the similarty to the Jets-Bears trade involving Thomas Jones.

Thomas Jones was traded to the Jets on top of the Jets and Bears swapping second round draft pick positions.

You bring up an excellent point. We are coming upon unchartered territory with the Moss discussion.

My thought are I will get deathly ill and start convulsing if the Pats give up a first round draft pick for a wr that is past his prime, admits to quitting, actually does quit on running routes, and is due over 20 million for the enxt two years.

SO my answer is the Pats should pass on Moss and I'm hoping they jsut sign another wr to get rid of these stupid discussions and rumors.

I'm on pins and needles waiting for Randy to roll into town for that first game!

I'm not that fond of Randy Cross, but it does indicate the season is starting.

You cannot trade for Moss, without first having the contract fixed. An aging nonperforming malcontent shouldn't be paid unless his contract is based on his preformance this season, not on 4 years ago. And if all this came about, it would have to be the 28th pick we traded and there 65th 3rd round that we get back.

I would take Moss on two conditions:

(1) He restructures his deal and accepts Deion Branch money, no more.

(2) We don't "give up" a day one pick without something close in return.

If we, say, trade #24 to Oakland for #33, then trade our 3rd for Oaklands 4th (a move of about 9 spots). Then I'd be happy. Note, that swap would be equivalent to close to what the Jets gave up for Thomas Jones.

Deion Branch money is too much in my opinion. what if you want to get rid of him.... you suffer a cap hit.

for those of you on the trade value chart..... how does this equate.

if the Pats traded their 24th for atlanta's first rounder and also pats traded 28 for atlanta's 2nd rounder?

As I mentioned, if you don't like it, don't read it. It's just that simple. You knew exactly what you were getting with the post title.

If I don't like it I'll feel free to comment. It is what it is
