Guess Ron is not getting the BB interviews or the stories on Dillon, so he has to resort to his old game of Pat bashing.. this time on MSNBC.. nevertheless, the same old, same old Ron.. one good thing no BB bashing, in the end of the article he tries to get all warm and fuzzy about kids.. does not work, still same old Ron.
What does it mean when your agent issues a statement that reads: "Tom and his family are excited about the pregnancy'' when his family doesn't include the person who's pregnant? Well, so much for the Beaver Cleaver image, that's what it means.
Ever since Tom Brady ascended to the level of American sporting icon, which took about a season and a half as the New England Patriots' starting quarterback, he also became not only the All-American Boy but America's favorite son. He was the poster boy for what the world hopes all its athletes could be — smart, good looking, aw-shucks humble, flashing blue eyes, wide smile. Just one of the guys, even when he couldn't really be one of the guys because of his rising public profile as a three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback. He was John-Boy Walton with better jewelry, an image he worked overtime to foster.
When his charmed life began to change and he threw a pick that helped kill his team in the playoffs a year ago, the reaction by most clear-thinking people around Boston was, "it happens." So what? His halo remained intact.
.....It's not a public relations problem, it's a life to be cared for. The public relations problem, which Brady hasn't quite seemed to figure out yet, is this: If you want to date actresses and supermodels you need to remember that most of them know how to manipulate the media better than any NFL quarterback who ever lived.

I don't really think this one is pats bashing. Like it or not, having your ex girlfriend declare to the world that she is pregnant with your baby while you are in Paris with the new girlfriend is not exactly the image we have come to expect from Tom Terrific. (Frankly, this is not a big deal to me. Image is one thing but we are all human and none of us are perfect)
The difference between us and TB of course is that he is in the spotlight and we aren't. Borges is commenting on how bad this makes him look. Frankly, it does. He has cultivated a squeaky clean image and this situation clearly doesn't fit the image that we have of him. If he were a Rock star, this would have been big news for half a day and forgotten in the next half.
But he's not. Tom markets himself (yes much less than peyton) as a clean cut all american boy. he's the guy who works hard, doesn't complain, and makes the best out of his situation. When news like this happens, it is so incongrous with the image he has tried to create so hard all these years. That's why people have reacted to it like this. Borges is merely pointing out what many of us know already.
Yet even this recent misstep might have slid off him as if he was made of Teflon had he done what most people expected: Come out wearing that innocent grim and tousled hair as he talked about how much he was looking forward to being the kind of Dad his father was to him.
According to Borges, its OK for Moynihan's publicist to make the announcement that she's pregnent, but when Brady issues a statement he's a bad guy. Borges thinks he is suppose to have a press conference to talk about his feelings.

Perhaps he truly is about putting the team first. Perhaps he is about not doing 5000 commercials, and if he does he takes his O-line.
It is that same conviction that allows him to do the right thing in this situation with Moynahan. The right thing is not to go back with her just because of a kid. The right thing is to make sure that he is the BEST dad he can possibly be.
Borges is an idiot. Referring to INT's as changing his image? C'mon. In sports, you can't win 'em all.

I have to agree with this. Tom is the way he is about playing sports, and everyone else in the media has run with that to create the golden boy image. Just like they do with almost every successful, attractive quarterback. From the articles I have been reading in the last couple of years, he was actually annoyed by the image and wanted to make it clear he was just like every other guy. Remember the "Tom Brady Surfs for Porn" headlines?
He can't help it if he's good looking. Frankly, this "image" he supposedly works day and night to "market" is largely because of how he looks and how he wins. It practically markets itself.

he does not know the facts so he should keep his mouth shut, lets assume the bradys knew that ms. moynahan secretly got off her birth control without telling mr. brady, what parent would be so quick to embrace ms. wonderful with their statement? not many, so without the facts he should mind his own business
We all know what kind of guy tom is. no question he will deal with fatherhood the way he deals with everything, the best possable way. cant wait till next season . there will be other things to write about.you go tom
As the week has progressed, I find this a non issue!
Ron Borges of course waited to publish his take to later in the week when he knew his point of view would get some more attention.
Bottom line is he will be a great Dad. I see him hoisting the Lombardi in one hand and having his son or daughter in the other hand on the podium next February!
Or watch him carrying his baby around Boston or after a big win - wait to see how much more endeared Tom will become. Somehow he will make this work and will end up even more Golden as the media will marvel at how does he do it??? He is a QB and a single Dad...what an even greater guy than we...yada yada yada.
Damned babies are a babe magnet. Something tells me #12 with baby in tow will make women go even more nuts for this guy. Sometimes I really do hate Tom Brady
Borges is insane...some of the stuff he wrote is nuts.
Take this...
Quote:
Although babies without fathers present have become the norm in American society in general
Wha?
And this...
Quote:
Now he's on the front page of newspapers from coast to coast canoodling with an underwear model young enough to serve as the nanny for Moynihan when she needs one in about six months.
Wha? Bundchen is 27. How old is Brady? They've got like 3 years age difference. What's the age difference between Borges and his wife? That is, if anyone can stand him long enough to marry him.
And finally...
Quote:
He was John-Boy Walton with better jewelry, an image he worked overtime to foster.
Yeah, that's why he did a magazine spread in which he went out of his way to say he drinks, swears, watches porn, goes to clubs and looks to get laid. That's John-Boy Walton to a tee.
