Thomas NOT franchised - New England Patriots Forums

As of 11:00 pm 2-21 there is no report of any franchise tag placed upon Adalius Thomas. Contrary to another thread there is nobody reporting this that I can document. Anybody else find it?

The Ravens are unlikely to use the tag because they lack significant salary-cap room and don't like the animosity it creates between the player and the team.

I have not found it out there either about him being franchised this is all I have found.

Franchised or not we're not getting him either way.

I 100 percent agree with you.. No chance , its nice to dream ,but I think he goes west or south... Pats will not get into a bidding war for a 30 yr old LB

They got Colvin with a solid offer a few years ago. It's not out of the realm of possibility he doesn't come here.
I agree, Pats won't get into a bidding war. If he's available, I would tend to think if they want him and believe he fits their system, they'll bring him in and say " We would really love for you to come play with us. We have a figure in mind for you. If you accept it, you'll be looking at title shots every year". they'll leave it at that, see what he says and then go from there..

We all agree they have a plan B.. Pats are great thinking two or three steps ahead of everyone else!

Its not like this guy has a tatoo saying "PAY ME".. We really don't know what is running through his mind

Didn't ya'll think the same thing about Colvin? To high a price... Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Detriot offer him way more money, but he came here for less money to play for the Pats... You just never know... It's not over till it's over... I personally, would love to see him here... I think he would be a wonderful addition to the defense...

Thomas has been looking forward to this because this is his only chance for a big contract.

Colvin wasnt offered top money but came here because he wanted to play for a winner.

I have not heard those reports coming from Thomas or his people about wanting to play on a winner. I have heard about franchise tags and he wants more money than the Ravens are offering.

Seems money hungry to me. Considering the Ravens are already a good team.

could we please keep this a news thread instead of personal opinions on signings. you are more than welcome to start that type of thread on your own.

I just wanted to keep this thread accurate to the news sources, and not speculation or false reporting. Thanks
