Default TRUTH & RUMORS: Broncos may draft RB

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...nfl/index.html

There have been rumors Denver might send Jake Plummer, Tatum Bell and their first-round pick to Houston for the Texans No. 8 pick in the draft, in the hopes of drafting Adrian Peterson.
-- Rocky Mountain News

If this is true who do you think this deal favors?

Business or not, Ron Rivera's parting with the Bears was not his choice. The reality is that Rivera and the Bears would have parted company even if they had won the Super Bowl, sources have confirmed. The Rivera move wasn't about money. It was about power. No matter how the message is spun, sliced or diced, it came down to this: Lovie Smith fired Rivera.

How about Denver gives us Plummer, Bell, and their first-rounder. We ship Pass/Cassel and our Seattle pick to Houston, and Houston hands over their number 8 to Denver.

In seriousness I think Houston gets the better deal in that instance. Turn Plummer into a pick with another team, do what you can with Bell, and save some money by picking lower in the first round.

I think this deal defintiely benefits the Broncos. They are planning on getting rid of Plummer anyways, they will get a pick or something in return instead of releasing him. Tatum Bell is always injured and is more of a speed guy.

You know Shanahan wants Adrian Peterson as their workhorse back.

If I were the Texans I would stay in the top 15 at the very least. They need elite playmakers. There big mistake was bringing back David Carr.

Honestly, I don't think that CARR is the problem. I think that a big problem is that they have YET to put a starting quality LT on the team. They attempted to but it has never panned out. They certainly haven't attempted to develop one until this past year when they grabbed Charles Spencer and Eric Winston.
The rest of the line is still an issue.

Its kind of hard to be a good QB when your O-line isn't protecting you.

Who needs to win now? RAC in Cleveland. It's very possible that the Browns take Peterson at #3 or #4 depending on the coin flip at the combine. And if the Browns pass on Peterson, Minnesota would consider picking him at #7. Marshawn Lynch isn't going in the Top 10 so this rumor makes no sense.

any team might take Peterson realisticly..you dont always draft the need..maybe the player is something u cant pass on. Saints took Bush but they didnt really need him but it worked out.

i can see Raiders or Lions also taking Peterson. Raider fans insist Jordan isnt good enough but their OL blows . Lions might not have Jones for half the year and either team could be looking for an improvment and a pro bowl potential type of guy like AD

This would be a good deal for Denver -- unless someone takes Peterson before No. 8 which could easily happen. I've seen projections of him going as high as No. 3 overall. I don't think he goes that high, but it would be hilarious if Denver made that deal with him in mind and someone swoops in and gets him before they could.

I just heard this while out at dinner last night from the head chef. Friggin rat fink Shanahan up to his tricks again. I wouldn't put it past his old buddy Kubiak to help him out.

David Carr isn't the Texans problem imo.

If they really upgrade their OL, he will be better...
