Our $25 mil under the cap includes Corey's number. So, I don't see any urgency in forcing anything on him at this time. I do think that he will cooperate if the Patriots say that they need additional space for some reason.

We should bring him back for the 2007 season and let's see how Maroney does. Maroney needs work in the off season. I think that he is giving off a tell and that needs to be corrected. The last half of the year the defense seemed to know exactly where he was going before he moved.

Aversion to contact and upright running style were the dings on Moroney's scouting reports. In hindsight it looks like Addai was the better pick after one NFL season.

Hopefully, they bring in a young bruiser during the off-season. Brady will get killed without a solid running game.

You mean the guy that actually ran well against the Colts, scored a TD and juked one of their players out of his blue panties? That Dillon? I hope they take him back. Love the two backs we have, but am troubled by Maroney's playoff performances, which were weak.

The old man can still do it.

Sorry if this was already posted....but this was on the dillonator.com site Wed...

Running back Corey Dillon, had tears in his eyes as he talked about the inevitability of his retirement.

"Man," he said, "I just wish I realized earlier in my career that I didn't have to be such a selfish (expletive deleted) to be successful. Maybe I could have done more things to make the Bengals a better team when I was there, and maybe those great guys I played with in Cincinnati could have enjoyed this opportunity the way I'm enjoying it.

"I just hope all you guys realize that I never meant anything personally by what I said or did," he continued, his voice quivering. "I've had a great run here in New England, I love this game, and I just never understood that the best way to let everyone else know how much I loved it would have been to be more open and respectful of you in the media, the fans and most importantly, my teammates."

It was a truly touching moment when Patriots' media relations director Stacey James led a sobbing Dillon away from the podium to compose himself out of range of the prying eyes of reporters and cameramen.

He will restructure his deal or He will be cut. March 1st is the date it will happen either way.

Dillon may retire. The long lapses between plays and/or series this season may be an indication of the long term physical abuse his body has absorbed.
