BB, Parcells and many other coaches will tell you that one of the most important things after skill speed and size is character.

Sad to see a young player making some bad choices.

Not really. Think about it... how did the police know he had it? Either he was walking around yelling, "I'm carrying marijuana", or he was doing something else criminal to draw attention to himself and lead to him being searched.
