Couple, three things I'd not heard:
1. Pierce said the key in 2001 for Tom was beating out Damon Huard in preseason for the backup position. It wasn't replacing Bledsoe, that had to be done because he was severely hurt. But, if Damon were the backup, he would have been in there instead of Tom.
2. Brady could have blown up the Michigan clubhouse, even gotten Lloyd Carr fired (according to Pierce) because everybody in there wanted Tom starting, not Drew Henson. But, Brady kept quiet. Good, Tom.
3. On draft day, when Tom was getting no respect (it went into the second day with him), as round after round went by. Finally, some QB I'd never heard of got drafted. Tom's sister said Tom said he was going to take a walk. She noticed he'd taken a baseball bat, looked out the window and saw him destroying something in the backyard. Bad, Tom.

I got it from my kids for Christmas. Quick read so far (almost done). Focuses mostly on the 2005 season and a solid segment on his rise from 4th string to starter wrt his work ethic and loyalty. Also a bit on his balancing celebrity status and getting his job done. Funny part in there about the goat pictures.

I've read the book. Good read, the Pats portion is quite insightful, but his account of the Michigan career is horribly wrong. Aside from several glaring errors (ie, Rose Bowl was 1997 season, 1-1-98, Brady was a redshirt soph) he subscribes to the theory that Brady was upset or disrespected by the coaches and fans at Michigan, which is just incorrect. Tommy always was a great leader, he had no reason to blow up the lockerroom, because it was HIS lockerroom. The team rallied around Tom. We loved Drew, he was a great guy, but everyone could see Tom was just the man. When we needed it, it was #10 who delivered. He was VOTED captain, not appointed. He was popular with everyone on the team. He still has a great relationship with Lloyd and his friends back at Michigan. He doesn't big time anyone, and still gets excited when any of us come out to see him. I want to know who he talked to "at Michigan" for that account.
The draft day story is notorious. Pat Kratus (a UM player, and one of Tommy's roommates) was neglecting the draft. He called Tommy to see where he had gone. Tommy's response would be deleted from this board.
