Default Hats off to Pats Fans

I just want to compliment most of the fans posting here. Yes, there is a little inane smack talk, but for the most part, the posts are thoughtful, interesting, and reasonable. Of course you all want the Patriots to win, but most of you seem to be a fan of the game overall. I haven't really seen this on too many other fan forums--perhaps only on the Steeler fans' forum. Most forums are full of smack, smack, smack with very little meat.

Personally, I have rediscovered my joy in football after spending a year in Iraq. The games became a weekly ritual, all of us, from all different fan bases, gathering around a television at night to watch whatever game was being beamed to us. And while a Chargers fan, that experience has taught me to appreciate all teams. It would be pretty dull without good competition from other teams, after all.

I am looking forward to a good game tomorrow. The Patriots are a classy team, and as I have posted on the Chargers forum, the Pats' fans are classy as well.

Here's to a great game!

One of the things I love about football is that, violent game that it is, there is a culture of sportsmanship and good humour around it. Having visits to this site from classy fans of opposing teams is a part of the pleasure. So thanks for your post!

Last week's Patriots-Jets game was everything that football should be -- played with great intensity by two teams that were trying everything that they knew to win, led by coaches who were cunning and imaginative (and the Pats coming out on top). That will suit me fine tomorrow!

Uh, for the spirit of the game, that would be good. But as I am a Chargers fan, I hope it does not come down to the coaches but rather the players!! (I do want us to win, after all!)

No worries! And I'll say it now because I'm going to be off line and in the air to the homeland after the game: if you beat us, congratulations to you and I hope that you go on to win the Big One. If we win, I'm sure you'll be back to shake hands ...

Thank you, bonobo, from me and my family, for your sacrifice and commitment to our country. I am a fan of yours far before any other.

Thank you, too, for your post. Although we did have an infestation of trolls from your team early in the week, many good fans, such as yourself have also graced our board. You are always welcome.

NO INJURIES to either side tomorrow.

Once again, bonobo, thank you for your service. We all are thankful and proud for what you're doing.

And as good patriots, all us will cheer on Sunday for our team.

Thanks for your service to our country.

Hope that it's a good clean game, no injuries, and no bad calls.

The Chargers are a very good team. I hope that by Sunday night Charger fans can join us to cheer The Patriots to their 4th SB win. You wouldn't want one of those nasty teams to win it, would you?
