Default What are the keys to victory today???

I think the pats need to establish the run game early to foil any intentions of mangini trying to rattle brady. With that being said I also think Brady needs to take some shots down field early (perhaps utilizing the play action) to throw the jets on their heals.

For the most part I think Pennington is going to go for the short stuff so it's imperative that we make our tackles on first contact. However I won't be surprised if they try to take some shots down field early on and try to take the crowd out the game.

And I'm sure both teams have some tricks up their sleeves that they going to use on eachother today? Let's just hope the Pats are on their toes.

Run the ball early and often. Once that is established Brady to Reche all day.

Oh and also, Make Pennington eat dirt.

Offensively, I just care about holding onto the ball. We'll put up plenty of points if we don't kill ourselves. Run, pass, whatever. Just don't turn it over.

Defensively, apart from good tackling, the big thing to me is solid run defense on 1st and 2nd down. Pennington is very good on those little 3rd down passes, we need them to be 3rd and 8s, not 3rd and 2s.

Agree with you guys--would also say throw in some screen passes to keep that Jets D honest. Defensively--we should bring this house early and often.

Here is THE key. No turnovers. If we do not turn the ball over we will win-period.

Also, no big plays for the Jest on ST's. Those are the two main keys.

Yes, you do have to establish the run, but in a balanced attack... we're all shocked by what happened to KC when they taped a big sign on Larry Johnson announcing he'd be running through Indy en route to the end zone, all aboard.

Be willing to use both, sure, and be willing to go deep if you get a shot deep, but all of this needs to feed into the Jets having to play honest at the line of scrimmage, that is the most important thing. If there's not eight or nine in the box, we win that battle.

And on the other side: stop the run, and stop the underneath stuff. Unfortunately we'll probably have a harder time stopping the short passes, since we're set up to stop the run most effectively. But stopping Pennington from burning you long is like stopping a guy in a wheelchair from slam dunking the ball. You get an assist from mother nature on that one.

My personal keys to victory:
* Cheetos
* Remote

But if we are going to try to ram it downm their throats from the get go, and fail, we put them in the drivers seat...and that could kill us.
That is a good point as we seen that clearly happen with KC yesterday...
