Default Any lessons from the Miami debacle?

The Miami fiasco still troubles me and I am wondering if the more knowledgable fans can give any pointers on how the Pats can avoid repeating that kind of a performance.

Not sure how true is Miami's claim that they got tapes on Brady and knew a lot about his audibles/play-calling, especially since Brady dismissed it. But assuming that there were other ways thru' which the 'Fins got an upper hand (there has to be something because how we can get shut out??) wouldn't the Jets try to repeat what the 'Fins did? After all, Mangini will be resorting to every option to pull this off.

Any thoughts to bring down the uneasiness of this fan in the heart of enemy-land??

Go PATS!

If that was true, that Miami knew Brady's audibles, why hasn't any team repeated the Dolphin's performance?

Either it was a bunch of BS or the Pats changed their signals.

If it is true that they picked up on our signals, theres a good chance that Saban has or will let BB know now that hes out of the division.

I think it was more the pressure that Miami put on us and the poor line play than the possible "tapes" that Miami had of Brady's audibles. When guys get in and get clean shots at Brady, we have no chance.

In terms of changing signals...I believe they change their audibles quite often. For instance, in the Bears game, it sounded like the audibles were womens names. He would call out "Mary, Mary" and stuff like that all the time. Sounds funny, but it's true. That was one of the few times I heard calls like that, because usually I hear calls like "Omaha." I think they switch them up quite a bit.

All you have to do is the opposite of what the supposed "tell" indicates. Burn them that a few times and they will no longer trust that their "information" is reliable.

Whatever happened that day in Miami was an anomaly I do hope.

Don't play in Miami.

Don't play in Denver.

The Pats will be doing neither this January (but this February...!), so problem solved.

Though Brady dismissed it outrightly, there has been no explanation why we got shut out. I agree we always play poorly when we play @ Miami, but our performance (or the lack of it) was quite bad that day and I am inclined to believe that there could be more to it than that meets the eye.

W.r.t other teams not repeating it, maybe the NFL got wind of something amiss (remember BB refusing to elaborate on the former Texans GM's comment on the Pats' video taping?) and ...

What the hell? When did I join the conspiracy theory?? The six pack helped me reduce the worries but seems to be adding extra juice to my creative abilities. Time for another six pack...

But seriously - would welcome any thoughts on my original thread. Thanks for the responses!

The only smart thing Saban did was waste draft picks to dig a deeper hole for the Fins. Which gladdens this Pats fans heart. I don't think he was/is that smart or clever enough to get Brady's audibles. Besides that game was a few weeks back. No need to focus on the cellar dwellars, let's set our eyes for the prize.

Unless JT shows up in a Jets jersey tomorrow, I'm not worried about a Miami repeat.
