Default There is another team on the field when the Pats play, FYI

Not that I'm making excuses for today's loss (or maybe I am, who knows), but for every 100 "The Pats sucked!" posts, there's probably .5 "the Dolphins actually played well today" posts.

There is another team on the field when the Pats play these games, and those teams do have the ability to play well. Sometimes I feel Pats fans forget that.

Yes, Matt Light looked a little like Jodie Foster in The Accused out there, yes, Brady did not have his A Game, no, the wide receivers did not get open, but can we at least consider the possibility that the Dolphins good execution & defensive talent (Taylor is a beast) had something to do with that.

Again, I'm not making excuses, but let's not be such self-centered sports fans - there is more than one team taking the field for these games, and sometimes that team can play well.

I couldn't agree more. I know that BB always says this when we lose, but today, we were outplayed and outcoached in every aspect of the game. The Saban and the Dolphins deserve kudos for a terrific game. It was their super bowl. I thought that, initially, we game planned well on Jason Taylor, running Dillon at them, but Taylor adjusted well. I also saw a few screen passes early but they shut that down. Things just seemed to spiral down from there. The punter Donnie Jones killed us all day long in a terrific performance. On Offense,Harrington played within his game, and did just enough. We shut down Welker, but Booker beat us badly. We were soundly beaten. We are not as bad as we looked to be yesterday. The Dolphins played a great game and had an answer for everything we did. Let's get over it and back to work.

I think if we lost 24-20 and didn't turn the ball over 3 times we'd be crediting Miami a little more.

Well what do you feel they did so right? That wasn't a result of what the Pats did wrong? No doubt Taylor showed up for the game. As he usually does. Who else? Maybe so many Pats fans were hoping the Phins would win so they get a higher draft pick next year it carried over to this week.

We as Pats fans rarely credit the oppossing team one way or the other ever. All we ever talk about is ourselves, at least from my own experience, I can say I am a culprit of having a completely Patriots-first outlook on every game. It's only natural in a sense, but we have to fight that bias and acknowledge that there is another team out there.

As bad as we played yesterday, the Dolphins did have a big say in the outcome of the game. I'd say Denver and the Colts were games where we beat ourselves, but yesterday, we just got flat out beat. It's not better or worse a reflection on the team, it just is what it is.

This thread is absolutely right. On several replays I saw a lot of guys in white jerseys running around making plays. I wonder if they were the ones who won the game?!?

Not sure I follow this? So if you lose close and turn the ball over 3 times then Miami played well or deserves credit. But if they win 21-0 and caused 2 turnovers (I don't consider the Cassel fumble a vital TO), they don't deserve credit?

I think the Broncos and Dolphins flat out beat us. We beat ourselves in the Jets and Colts game.

I wonder if other fans of other teams react so dramitically after a loss? They got outplayed yesterday, it happens. The only thing that matters now is how they play in January and trying to get the #3 seed over Indy.

Right now, I think the most important thing is getting as many players on this team healthy for the playoffs. Rodney, first and foremost, makes a huge, huge difference.

The dolphins have a good defense...I will say that.....not as great as we made them look yesterday. Matt Light looked like Vin Rhames character in Pulp Fiction with a racquetball in his mouth. The rest of the O line wasn't much better.....Brady didn't have time to get his "A" game going as he was pressured constantly...plus he just doesn't isn't comfortable with his receivers out there....He is coming around with Caldwell...and T. Brown is always there but a little slower now....the rest he has no comfort level with IMHO....(Incidentally, seems like Gabriel has been blackballed since the fumble against the Jets)

We had no running game going at all because once again the OL sucked, and Corey Dillon is not going to get it done overall anymore....good 3rd down back perhaps but starting to look more and more like A. Smith out there..plodding for one or two and going down....

Again, the dolphins defense is good....yeah Taylor is great...but you need to make adjustments to handle the guy. Usually the pats can double him up pretty well.....or make adjustments in their playcalling to throw him (and the rest of their D) off...instead they played a vanilla loaded mush of an offense thanks to Josh "Coach Kline from Waterboy before he got his mojo back" McDaniels........

Lastly, there is one other team that was out there yesterday....the Zebras.......they made some of the worst calls ever made out there....just awful....
