Default Semi-OT: Rex Grossman's QB rating

After three quarters yesterday: 0.0
After four quarters: 1.3

And Lovie Smith says they're 10-2 with Rex Grossman at QB. Anyone on here think they might be 12-0 with, say, Matt Cassel?

[No, I am not suggesting the Pats trade Cassel to da Bears--merely suggesting that they might be undefeated if they did have him.]

I agree with Lovie at this point - dance with the date that brung ya.

Grossman is a liability, but no more than Griese or Orton would be at this point. The Bears defense and special teams are keeping Chicago in each game. Grossman likes to "sling it' and throws high risk passes. Smith may need to reel him in a bit.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised to see Griese get a lot of playing time if the Bears clinch the #1 seed soon.

I had to go back and see if QB rating could go negative. Answer is no.
